In the latest issue of Weird NJ magazine I saw a picture taken by a reader on his trip to London. It was of a fried chicken restaurant that went by the name "New Jersey fried chicken". WTF? Is New Jersey somehow known for it's delicious fried chicken over there? We certainly aren't known for that here in the states.

the people who open em just call em american names, because the food itself is synonymous with the U.S. but i don't think this lot got the idea its southern US...

On a side note, last time I went into a KFC, they'd run out of chicken. How in gods name can a Kentucky Fried Chicken resteraunt have run out of chicken? It's like a Chinese resteraunt with no rice. And yes, I've been to one of those too.

We got it all over here in London, Don't forget 'Tenessee Fried Chicken' is really common, too. I don't think they really care, its just a name that has a semi-familiar US-style-chicken-joint ring to it that is a little different so they won't get sued. I'm Australian, and when I was in Amsterdam they have the 'famous Australian icecream' shops there...first I'd heard of Oz being famous for icecream..Come to think of it, in Australia they had 'famous Copenhagen icecream'..hmm I smell a rat here....
