I've got a question here for any people from (or living in) london.

Where do you suggest my friend and I go for a good time in new years eve?

We'll be in London from the 28th of december till the 10th of january.

I've heard that there is a big party at trafalgar square, but I am wondering if it would be like the one at Times Square in NY.

Any suggestions?

P.S. Aside from all the museum type goodies (i'm a hopeless academic) what are some fun things to do about town.

And how cold is it? I'm from the desert.

We'll be staying at a youth hostel near hyde park (near paddington station I think).

I've been to london before, but not without any kind of guide.

I don't know where you can go because i haven't been to London for a while,
but the weather is quite cold, you might get some snow, but it'll probably just rain.

I know i'm not from London, but i felt sorry for you having no replies,
hope you have a good time

I here you can take a train to paris quite easily from london.

Or, you can always jet to NYC, from heathrow.

Alternatively, you can stay in London, as I think he wants to.
There'll PROBABLY be some sort of party in Hyde Park, which will be worth a look. Just go out and wander around the streets and see if you find anything interesting. Leicester Square may also be worth a visit.

Ya, if I wanted to go to NYC for new years I wouldnt be going to London for new years. Thanks though.

I'm hoping to go to edinborough while i'm there, and probably to paris too (2+ hours each way by train if I'm not mistaken?)

I've not been to scotland before but really love what i've heard (and drank :p) of the place.

Been to paris but you can never be in france too long, so i hope to swing by.

I'll probably just end up wandering around and finding somewhere fun, was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas though.
