Why do people continue to go onto NS and post on the threads?

What is it? Something to do in your spare time, a "hobby", an obsession, an addiction? For me, it's something to do in my spare time. It's kind of addicting and I've tried to stop several times before but dammit, I was just "surfin' the net" (God, it's cheesy) and found myself simply checking on the state of my nation. Sure enough, within moments I found myself on the General Forums. Oh well, thank god for hockey, it keeps me busy on the weekends. But enough about me, anyone care to share? I'm hoping people don't tell me to "fuck off, thats none of your business" because this isn't really a personal question, unless there are personal reasons why you go on here.

My friends have forbid me from discussing politics/economics....esp. when I'm drinking.

People in NS share similar interests, even though they can be conflicting.

Same here … I work as a network admin … besides our various wireless addition and modification project I sit there and wait for things to go wrong :P it doesn’t happen often … mostly doing network simulation and modeling

Needless to say I am in front of the computer for a lot of the day with nothing to do:)

I like to read it at school because it's much more educational than whatever we're supposed to be doing.

I'd say it's probably a combination of the enjoyment of anonymous debate and a compulsion to do so.

I enjoy the intelligent discussions I try to have with people all over the world.

I have Computer Class for an hour everyday, but we never get assignments so I go here. My friend is a member, although he never posts anything and is constantly critical of what I post.

It's because I've found that even the most ignorant on this board are a few steps ahead of most political forums that are really slanted to one side or the other.
(Not always, but)Most people seem to think at least a few seconds before posting. An achievement nontheless online.

Thats true. He must be a very disappointed and frustrated person.

I used to go here all the time, but my "posts per day" has gone way down, and I really don't post much anymore, this forum lost a lot of what I liked about it when it switched to Jolt. I also have other forums to go on, like Paradise Beach (refer to signature).

Lol, nah, I just ignore the ones that don't get intelligent.
I, oddly, can count the number of "intelligent" people I have talked to online on my hand. That's pathetic.. but better then the zero there are areound my home.
