Post Modernism: Does that need to grow up?

Post Modernism started around the time of the creation of the Internet Forum, when the Internet began to rise.

It was at this time that for any one problem there was only one answer and that was that, no debate. Where as now we are in a situation where people may flame and troll each other into accepting the opposition's ideas.

'sfunny because the conventional birthdate of postmodernism is given as 1972 with the construction of an office building which had flutings similar to those of a grandfather clock on its top, but with one of them intentionally chipped off (the name of this building temporarily eludes me).

Ah, yes, but it now exists in a different inter-thread context and so doesn't count as plagarism..

His pendulum is cool. But I think he died sometime before 84.

as far as I understand it, he contributed highly to the movement, though like many post moderists (at least that I have studied) he decided that he was part of a differant crowd. Post moderism is quite ambigious as well.

Then again, I could be way off

His study "Archaeology of Knowledge" appeared in 1969. In 1970 he was elected to the College de France, the country’s most eminent institution of research and learning, as Professor of the History of Systems of Thought. In 1975 he published "Discipline and Punish: The Origin of the Prison", perhaps his most influential book. During the last decade of his life he devoted himself to "The History of Sexuality", a monumental but unfinished project. Volume I: An Introduction appeared to much controversy in 1976, and the second and third volumes—"The Uses of Pleasure and The Care of the Self"—came out shortly before his death in 1984.

I only know that because if was the year of my birth

Just checking: I know people that got all the way through Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum and still hadn't realised that the two were different people.

At my university there is a foucalt's pendulum.

Man may never understand the sacred mysteries that compel its function.

Why, is the pendulum post modern now or something?
