Half-Life vs the Matrix

Well both are very similar in theme (depending on your perception of the HL story)

My opinion is that Half-Life is a better story and more (it seems) thought through.
In Half-Life 1 left you deliberate confused asking questions perhaps just a bit of clever marketing but still quite good leaving me desiring a sequel.
Where as how ever, in The Matrix movies, they had to make up a lot of other crap just to tie up a bunch of loose ends and provide a sequel for the fan boy kiddies.
So what do you think?

The first Matrix was brilliant. However, the sequels did indeed suck. Especially the bit at the end where the little kid is like "Will we ever see Neo again" and the oracle goes "maybe we will, maybe we will". My God, that was awful.

The first one was good but in my opinion but the story was a bit... simplistic...
It also didn't really make any sense.
I mean really why would the machines need to use humans as power source?
What’s wrong with nuclear power, water, wind or thermo? That’s kind of dumb...
Half-Life 2 provides a vast (uni/multi)verse to play around with. The Matrix is way to restrictive and heavy with the biblical quotes too, I know that’s pretty much standard with genre, one man saving the world and all that but still... :headbang:

Edit: BTW: Freeman would kick Neo's arse

The Matrix is undoubtedly the superior.
