All's fair in love and war: True or false?

I think that statement is fundamentally true, but with my contrived human morals and ethics, I consider it to be wrong.

Certain things are fair and in most circumstances the things that people do in love and war are fair, but killing someone to get a man is not acceptable, and spraying napalm is not acceptable in wars. So, not ALL is fair, but Some.

Sitting here I realize I'm wrong. I was naive to assume that people are generally good, when in fact most people will do outrageous things that are completely WRONG and NOT fair in the least. People seem to sick and twisted and don't use good judgment, so it isn't MOST it's VERY FEW.

Not fair no, will it happen though? yes.

In war, killing innocent women and children is a no-no. Also, dishonorable conduct (I won't get into what that entails, I'm sure most of you can figure it out) during war is generally frowned upon.

In love... well cheating etc. is always wrong no matter what... although then again if you'd cheat your obviously not in love....
