The Downfall of NationStates Forum

Will be people who post immediately (and most likely without thinking) without reading the other posts already there.
Circular arguments ensue and everybody's back at the beginning again on page 3.
Doesn't anyone else besides me bother to read the previous posts without hitting the reply button in a frenzied huff?
I know that everyone doesn't do this, but if you don't have time to read, then you don't have time to post without looking like an asshole.
Has anyone else noticed this too?

I usually try to avoid posting in topics that have been around for a while. Unless it’s to spam.

3 pages is not an "old post". I'm talking first page of General.
Not the 3rd or 4th. That's just rediculous, but if you are that lazy I agree.
Don't post there.

I didn't make any reference towards how old is old. Usually if I get on and it's already in it's tenth page or something like that I just ignore it. Most of what there is to say has already been said. If I'm waiting for somebody to reply to something that I said that's a different matter.

I often find I can't respond to my own threads which get popular for this reason. But yes, I agree.

I disagree. I think the real problem with the NationStates forums is people who post without reading the other posts first. That just ends up with people going back and forth about the same issues over and over again. Jeeze, people, just RTFArticle so you can have an informed opinion!

Anyone with me on this?

Was this a joke? That's exactly what I said. Thanks for paraphrasing though.

You know, I think you're right. Maybe someone should make a thread (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=372970) testing your theory.

No no no, your all wrong!

What the real problem is is when people post without reading other peoples posts.

Thats what really pisses me off.

Do you bother to read the first post before posting?????

I agree though. I mean, when I see a thread that would interest me, but it has 2000 replies, I just say forget it, and I think others should too.

I usually try to stay out of topics with more than 3 pages because it takes too long to read through it.

i didnt bother to read through all this but it seems to me that the downfall is that people dont really read whats been written and just jump to the reply button

You know that's one of my pet peeves. I'd never do anything like that. And another thing I don't like is when people go off on some unrelated tangent. And spelling errers too.

That reminds me, has anyone seen that new Burger King commercial with the watches?? ;)

no matter how long or short a thread is it bothers me that some people just reply to it without reading any of the posts before it? Has anyone else noticed that?
