NEW YORK -- 37 year old, Frank Dillion; climbed over the spiked fence surrounding the observation deck of the Empire State Building yesterday and leaped to his death, police said.

Several tourists witnessing the man's suicide leap recanted conversations that Mr. Dillion was upset over the re-election of President Bush.

Although jumps off of the Empire State Building are the stuff of urban legend, they are relatively infrequent, police and building officials said.

There have been fewer than 35 reported since the building opened in 1931, although the latest was the second this year. In February, a man took a fatal leap from the 80th floor, minutes after filling out a job application.

When that kid killed himself at Ground Zero, there was no note, no rhyme or reason, no anything as to why he did it - but the media reported that it was due to the re-election of George W. Bush. So I've decided that every news report about a suicide will be because of the election. :)
