Being a grown up!

When I was a kid I used to think to myself, "What's so great about being a grown up?" I watched as they dragged themselves to work, fussed over bills, never seemed to get to do anything interesting, and generally seemed sad and angry about life in general.

However, I have now figured it out. At 32 years old, I now know the single most beautiful aspect of being grown up ...

Pie for breakfast.

But you have to shop for the pie, pay for the pie, clean up after eating the pie...

Think I'll stay as a kid for a while thanks (plus, I get up around noon, so I can still have pie for 'breakfast' if I want to...).

Liked the jist of the thread though... I just wanted to keep my 'joke-killing' skill sharp...

The best part of being grown up is working hard to support 3 kids and your lovely wife as she stays home to raise them. Nothing beats the feeling of being loved and greeted when you walk thru that door.

Like I'd rely on a woman to raise my kids for me.

Well it's better then letting some day care center do it. When I'm at work she is the boss, when I'm home we are a team. Mothers have a closer bond to their children then fathers could ever hope to have. Motherhood is the most important, and rewarding job on earth.

That's the mantra of a lazy father and has been proven time and time again to be a complete falsehood.

That's the mantra of a lazy father and has been proven time and time again to be a complete falsehood.Absolutely. The person who has the closest bond with a child is the person that spends the most time and effort on that child.

As for daycare, children who are in long term daycare from an early age have problems with emotional intimacy and bonding. I believe that one parent should be at home with the kids at all times, at least until primary school when getting a part time, inside school hours job is ok as long as there is someone for the kids to "come home to". I don't give a stuff whether it's the father or the mother that stays home, but one person should be there for them.

You can shout me down all you like, but I know what I've seen and researched about this issue. This is my opinion, I've put it into practice and I am extremely happy with the results.
