If the US invaded north korea what would happen?

US would loose.

Anywho, China has way too much to lose if they got involved. Heck they might even want us to invade as long as we let them help, and agree the people would select their own government. Stability in the area would ensure their financial growth. The people of NK would stop starving to death for once.

They might be able to lob one to Alaska if in fact Kim decided to say "screw it, lets do this" North Korea has nothing to win by actually using one though. His threat if larger if he mearly threatens to use one. Once the deed is done all bets are off and America would be within thier rights to level the place.

War is not supposed to be antisceptic or clean. In WWII we killed men, women, children, cats, dogs, goldfish, everything.

War should be something that you really want to avoid. Damn smart weapons are great sure but war should be sloppy, messy, deadly for everyone involved.

America is too afraid to attack NK. NK was testing nukes in the sky whilst America speculated that Iraq "may" have WMDs, and that was cause for invasion. NK is unassailable, as King Jong-Il is a psychopath with a shitload of nukes aimed at every country he doesn't like.

Of course the US has a far greater population, but how many soldiers could it realistically send at first? For the US alone to send a numerically superior force into North Korea, NK would pretty much have to fire some nukes. dude if the u.s were to invade china it would not come down to troop numbers..before one u.s. person set foot on nk soil there would be weeks if not months of missiles and bombs setting foot on nk soil....air force and navy have extensive amounts of missiles and bombs...and nk would never be able to make it to the u.s. too attack anyone...they will i think start hurlling nukes around the area they could reach..china, japan, sk..which would spur those countries to assisst in the obliteration of nk..thanx

they do have the potential to be a super-power..land, population, money,weaponry..they are semi-capitalist so they got money and financial connections. I think they need to open themselves up more to the rest of the world before they can become a sustainable super-power tho..
as far as not intervening..i just gotta think that the instant they saw nk was crazy enough to launch a nuke they would not want to run the risk that the next was aimed at them..i think that would spur them into action

I think that the US would win because of the fact they have superior technology. They have better nukes, planes, equipment for soldiers and etc. Even though I don't think it'll ever happen, I do think the US would win.

Why you assume that they would try to bomb US? I quess that if US attacks NK will attack South Korea. Kim might be insane but he's not stupid enough to attack US.

You are all idiots, NK has a horribly trained army and they are all very hungry, but better fed then the people, who would mostly flock to the US troops, there would be guerrilla warfare, with the nutjobs who actually like Jong-Il, North Korean would probably nuke itself to kill us but they would just wipe out that peninsula, if they had time, the US army would kick so much butt that Jong-Il would probably just go berserk and start pushing things up his ass. While half the army surrendered to us knowing we would win and they hate Jong-Il, another 1/3 would run away and the remaining 16% would fight and within minutes be destroyed. Who knows what China would do, if we had UN aproval the UN and US allies would rip apart China and NK, if we didnt have UN approval, We would have to spread troops within China and NK, but after awhile we would amerge victorious, but many many troops would be dead.

No your so stupid, the Iraqi population outnumbers us, and we are winning, I dont support this war dont get me wrong, but there is guerrilla warfare, there would be a lot less guerrilla warfare because half of NK is starving and over 3/4 hate Jong-Il, if you think even half of the NK army would fight your wrong, no, Cuba is smarter now, they would take no part, if they did our intelligence would report it than the UN would help us and tear apart all oposing countries.

China does not want am invasion to occur in the neighbourhood. So no invasion will happen.

China sees Kim as a loose cannon. I wouldn't be suprised if China was the one to invade NK but it won't happen.

To be realistic, this is what will happen. US invades NK and then China invades Taiwan.

That's the answer and I'm willing to bet everything I have. China will respond by invading Taiwan.
