I've never really seen Tenacious D as a metal band, so I don't know about this choice...
And I haven't heard any of Iced Earth's stuff, so...

I don't know why I'm posting in this thread....

I would say Therapy? kicks both their arses. :p

i'm really getting into ulver these days(though only their first three albums are really metal)




come to think of it their second album is really norweigan folk, so i guess 1 and 3 are the only metal ones. oh well they're still cool as hell.

Thrice's last album was some pretty heavy, metally sh*t.
But then again, I only think in terms of their two previous (better) albums.

The best metal band is Tvangeste, followed by Emperor. Iced Earth is great, but not as good as those two. Immortal, Satyricon and Dimmu Borgir are up there somewhere, too.

Rammstein is good. Yep. Rammstein.
KMFDM is good, but not really "metal" per se. :sniper: :sniper: :mp5: :mp5: :mp5:

The kids who shot and killed over 30 people at Columbine and then commited suicide liked KMFDM a lot. :mp5:

If I only had a choice between the two I'd of had to pass on this one, but as other posts have included other choices then I'll stick with the old school choices of Slayer, Metallica up till Justice For All (can't stand the pukes ever since their whole Napster whine), Motorhead, and Maiden. Modern - SOAD, Disturbed's remake of the Tears for Fear "Shout" Kicked ass. There aren't a lot of current bands who I can say I like all their work but a few songs here and there still make me want to do a little headbangin'.

While not metal, Me First and the Gimme Gimme's are rightous! Anyone who can turn Mandy, One Tin Soldier, and damn near any show tune hardcore are okay in my book of shadows.

What im noticing is there is a lack of Guns n Roses here. they are and always will be rock legends, not that tenacious d rnt good, but they aint metal! as for the best ever band id have to say KISS really take the trophy here.

All in all i would say Anthrax, because they are funny and forcefull as well. Then there is Blind Guardian for melodic metal and great songwriting and Disturbed for attitude.

where is the Nevermore? where is the Black Sabbath?!

I agree with Rockadia that Therapy? are completely excellent. I'm going to see them on 7 December :)

Also love Metallica and Sabbath. I love lots of other rock bands, but I'm not sure they could be classified as metal.
