With the election in Ukraine, there was a pro-western candidate, and the incumbant, who was backed by the Kremlin. With the exit polls showing the pro-western candidate won, but the one backed by the Kremlin declaring victory the nation is in turmoil. And now, Colin Powell says that we cant and wont accept the results of the pro-Kremlin's victory. Could this lead to tensions with the Russian government?

Yes, but mostly with the EU and Russia. The US doesn't seem to care much about the issue.

Then why did Colin Powell say that the US wouldnt accpet the results?

It seems to me that accepting the results is like saying "yeah, we know the election was rigged, but we don't care.". My first post on the subject said the US doesn't care.

Oooh! We better send investigators to look for neo-cons in the Ukraine! George Bush clearly stole the election there too!

Yet another ROGUE STATE happens to appear on the EU's Eastern border...

Therefore a big protest rally will be held in front of the European Parliament in Brussels on November 25th, 2 pm.

Protesters will claim for an adequate reaction of the European Union concerning the actual political events in Ukraine:

- pressure on the ukrainian government to review the results of the
elections

- sanctions against the officials straightly involved in manipulations
and fraud during the elections

- denials of visa applications of the ukrainian officials etc.

The rally will start in front of European Parliament at 2 pm, then
move to the office of European Commission where the participants will hold demonstration and hand their claims to the representatives of European Commission.
