A time for NS thanksgiving

In the spirit of the U.S. Thanksgiving Day holiday, I propose we take some time to list the things about NS that we're thankful for. You can list people and use the list to sing their praises or you can mention things about NS that you are thankful for.

In the things department, I'm thankful that NationStates has awakened my interest in writing a novel and has helped me to learn how to develop characters and establish a plot line. I've spent time and resources looking for ways to improve my RP, from reading and buying books on military equipment and strategies to trying to learn ways to improve my ability to write a convincing story. Along those lines, it has rekindled one of my interests that lay dormant for nearly 20 years!

In the people department, I am thankful for the friends I've made in my time on NationStates. From the people I considered my mentors, such as Isselmere or Granzi and, later on, Sdaeriji, to the people I may have helped along the way, I have made some connections here that I have come to treasure. People like Roach-Busters, Praetonia and Euroslavia are not just IC allies, but they have become good OOC friends. If I'm ever "attacked" IC or OOC, I can usually count on Praetonia to be one of the first ones to come to my defense. By the same token, anyone who attacks Praetonia IC or OOC will incur my wrath.

One of the lessons I've learned over my 31 years on this Earth is that you never stop learning and even the people you are meant to teach can teach you different lessons. Playing this game has become one of my favorite pursuits because of the things I've learned, the interests it's created or reawakened, and the people I've "met" in my time here, so I wanted to take a little time and put out a small token of appreciation.

Happy Thanksgiving!

:) I got a big truck ... would be tempted to try to run over all the slow old ladies packed in the streets trying to get to the craft store to buy red and green fabric or little wood cutout reindeer
