Dear Administration,

I cannot thank you enough for letting that assualt weapon ban expire. I had no idea how I would ever continue hunting deer in my small Wisconsin town. I mean, come on, seriosuly, who needs conventional hunting arms? Bring in the bad boys with the assault weapons! Oh yeah baby! Anyway, I do regret however not jumping on this sooner. I was planning on getting one of those assualt rifles for Christmas, but i should have bought one sooner. Then I might have been able to defend myself from that lunatic asian guy, who thanks to you, was able to purchase a semiautomatic assault weapon that was used to kill me and five other people including my son. What the fuck was that guy doing on my property anyway? Bitch. Damn, if you would have banned those asault weapons no one would be able to hunt RAMBO style! Well, i guess maybe my friends and I would still be alive, but hey,you gotta do whats good for america right? hehehe. Anyway, thanks again. The game of hunting can't be more gracious for your decision.

Hey blame the liberal biased media for misrepresenting the facts.

You really don't know how dangerous deer and bunnies really are!

I am still surprised by that story. I heard stories of a poacher having a "hunting accident" from time to time. But this?.....

If I remember correctly Congress is the one responsible for letting the ban expire. And recent occurences involving the 9/11 Commission reforms have shown the ineffectual (when trying to convince Congress) Bush administration. Bush is no master legislator like LBJ, or FDR. No, Bush is an executive through and through.

Didn't you see the news conference? When asked if they have ever seen the SKS 7.62 used in deer hunting. One of the sheriffs replied that he had hunted with two people who use the gun several times in the past. Therefore, it was apparently legal under the assault rifle ban and its popularity has grown over the years.

Now about Chai Vang aka the Laotian Rambo.... Apparently, he had gone up there with some companions to go deer hunting. He got lost, asked for directions and was lead to the road. Then he found the deerstand and occupied it. A member of the hunting party, who owned some of the land, found the guy and radioed back to the party that were at the cabin. The owner of the cabin replied that no one should be up in the deer stand and sent some people to help out. They got Vang down and told him that he was trespassing. Vang walked forty yards away, took the scope off his gun, turned around and began blasting away. Five people dead on the scene, one other died in the hospital, and two are still in the hospital. The thing is that the shooter had a record of domestic violence, one count of aggrevated assault with a gun, trespassing while hunting, and exceeding the limit of crappies one can keep. He also had military experience with our military in Laos. Authorities are still trying to find his two friends.

I think his two friends are dead and were the ones that made him snap. Then after running around in the woods for awhile, Vang obviously went Rambo. For some reason, no one fired back...

The assault rifle ban was strange as it banned guns for having a certain scope or something minor that allowed other almost exact same guns that did not through. Also, any gun made before the early 1990's was still legal and on the streets I believe. So it had a lot of loopholes.
