Some Democrats can have a lot of nerve . . .

There's this one Democrat in some of my classes - one day after the last bell rang, she comes up to me and is like, "So, you coming to the Young Democrats' Club?"

I respond saying, "No, and besides I'm Libertarian". The Democrat responds, constantly pressuring me that I have no choice but to choose between Democrats and Republicans, and got really annoying until I left for my bus. (actually in the end I kinda said 'Rep-' just to tick her off. BUT - as a guy, I gotta say that some of the Republican girls in my grade are pretty good-looking)

While I don't have anything against Dems personally, I just thought I'd share this with you.

Yeah, sorry about tht Dems. behavior. Please don't base your opinion on her. some Dems re d#icks, but so are some republicans. the only problem I have with the Libretarian movement, is that it is (in my opinion) a utopian movement. If everyone thought like that, no one would have to have cops, or lawyers. However, if there is one thinbg I've learned, it's that not all people are trustworthy.

I completely agree with you that Republican chicks are hot, but it's only because their parents are rich and can afford to pay for their make up, skin cream, jewelry, and other stuff that makes them so hot. Democrat girls would be just as hot if they had that much money, and they wouldn't be stupid ditz's either.

*it's pretty bad if she genuinely thinks you have to choose between Democrats and Republicans. She's young. She should be more idealistic.

*Republican girls? Sounds like your class are more politically aware than most young people!

*Republican girls? I find it a bit odd that you know the party affiliation of your classmates. Did you learn it this year, possibly during a classroom Bush vs Kerry bitchfest?

1) Yes, Republicans are, on average, hotter. But it's not because we're richer than Dems. It's because we like to flaunt it more. :D

2) Hm... violent debate + hot girls = catfight? Hm...!

3) Yeah, why isn't a girl her age advocating the overthrow of the "two middle-aged white guys" system? :(

would it really be so bad if we didnt have cops (another word for, "I was beat up as a kid and now feel the need push around other people for the most peddy of things) or lawyers (another word for, "i'm a greedy bastard)

just for the record, i dont feel that way about 'ALL' cops and lawyers, just 'most' of them.

I have had similar experience with College Republicans. During the Republican National Convention, a Republican friend of mine asked if I was going to join the College Republicans (we had never discussed politics before because I sensed that was a bad idea). When I said no, he called me a traitor and baby killer, even though he had no idea what my political beliefs are, and we have not spoken since.

Is it bad? Yes. But you need to realize it happens on both sides. :(

Yikes! Some people are really strange about their politics. It's understandable to a point. I bet in both cases these people are from extreme Rep or Dem backgrounds and wouldn't be able to stand a chance if you questioned their views. In Ireland they're called 15 year old socialist goths(I have no issue with socialists{not exactly true} or goths but a combination of all 3 really gets me) as most of them, don't have a clue about what they are talking about, think its cool to be all like share the economy/love/war/watered down hash etc. During the peace marches last March they were all over the streets demanding that people sign their petitions against war. Now I wasn't in favour of the war with our UN backing. But I thought it would be funny to say I was for the war and to question them...they fell like a whole line of dominos! Fun for all the family!

Yeah, I challenged him on abortion, saying what's the point of forcing someone to be born if they will suffer hunger, neglect, and be drafted etc., but this person (an uberfundie) called me a babykiller. There was no explaining anything to him. For the record, I am pro-life as he claims to be, but I at least recognize that if we're going to respect the sanctity of fetuses, we had better respect the sanctity of human life that has already been born, too. This concept was entirely beyond his comprehension.

I live in Red Sox Nation. One of the kids that lives next door to a buddy of mine in the dorms had a big picture of Curt Schilling on his door, and under it, it said, "Curt Schilling is voting for Bush. Why aren't you?" One time I confronted him, saying that I imagine a few Red Sox are probably going to vote Kerry, and he accused me of not being a real Red Sox fan. So go figure.

I have signed their anti-war petitions, but their alliance with the anti-war movement annoys me. Now it seems like you can't be publicly anti-war without looking like an extreme left-winger. (I'm centrist on economics, and uber-liberal on social issues.)

More about the Socialist Worker's Party: One of their junior ranks is something like "grand wizard revolutionary" - I have a friend who remembers his tenure in that position when he was - guess what - 15 years old, with embarrasment.

What? Since when are all "Republican chicks" super-rich? I don't know about where you live, but that is just NOT true around here. I would probably be considered a "republican" because my family tends to lean that way but I am certainly not rich. And there are probably a lot of Democratic families out there that are pretty well off. I really don't know where anyone is getting any of this "Republican=Rich, Democratic=Poor" stuff. I've just never heard anything like that before.

That's just the way it traditionally is. Of course, now, both parties enjoy the support of people of all incomes. Still, polls show that support is proportional to how much one earns. The lower earners tend to lean Democrat, with Republican tendencies increasing with the size of your paycheque.

Unfortunately, since no-one else has the capacity/funding to field a proper third party, the choice IS republican or democrat... any other vote is a vote in favour of the majority.

In a way, the young democrat was right. If you didn't support democrats in this last election - you might just as well have marked 'republican' on the ballot paper.

Republican girls? Hot? Not around here... most of them fall in the categories of plain, funny looking, and downright ugly around here. Plus they're usually stupid wenches as well. And every single one that I've met has been a psychotic religious extremist.

Note: Not to say that republican girls are incapable of being hot, I've met one... ONE conservative woman that's hot, but she's certainly been the exception not the rule. Also, in the last sentence, by "psychotic religious extremist," I do not mean all religious people or all Christian people, just the nutjobs.
