I was playing a gig last Friday and afterwards some girl I know told me her friends were asking: "Who's that Jesus?"

The fact is, I'm a guy with long hair. Not just over-my-ears-long, but well-over-my-shoulders-long. And most people, guys and girls, just can't accept that a guy can have long hair too. Is that a load of crap? Why can girls have long hair if guys can't?

Why? because its 2004 thats why. Long hair used to be cool when it was a rebellious thing now long hair on guys just looks outdated. Yeah girls have long hair still but notice that their styles have changed much in the last 20 years, guys who have long hair have just that long hair, sometimes in a ponytail. I'm sorry but when i see a guy with long hair I just picture him singing

"don't tell my heart"
"my achy breaky heart"

Don't you find it funny how we sit around and judge people from another era with our perceptions of what is right or wrong in the present? I know I laughed when I did that test as well because it still was another man writing down (today we call it heresay) information of what they say another man said about another man.

Holy ****, for some reason the idiots at my school once nicknamed my Jesus 'cause of me being a guy w/long hair too!

Now it's in a short ponytail and it looks so much more kickass. . . (Roger Federer, anyone? - he's a tennis player with a ponytail, and HE'S THE WORLD'S BEST!)


Anyways, the kid who actually started the whole 'Jesus' nickname for me is a Neo-Nazi, and should be sent to hell IMHO by the real Christ.

I find it amusing that, for every guy who gives me a hard time about it "looking gay," I find two or three girls who love it and just want to play with it all the time. Along with the occasional gay guy, too, although most gay guys seem to prefer short hair.

As far as it being out of style...meh, I've never been one to care. I look better with long hair, and if I cut it I would be massacred by most of my female friends, so I'm keeping it.

Damn Daajenai, you have really nice hair. And it's about as long as mine too (though being a girl, nobody finds that odd). On the otherhand, I had a buzzcut for like... three years. I got looks and comments for that I sure did.
