Evangelion VS Gundam
Which would Win, in a One On One battle? Gundam or Evangelion?
i would have to say Eva for sure. First off, they can generate an impenatrable AT field, which can only be broken by another Eva, or at least 180 gigawatts of energy. besides, Evas can regenerate, and are quite agile and speedy for a 200 or so foot tall robot. of course the Eva would win against a Gundam, which is more suited for gun combat. but even if the gundam was equipped with all the firepower guns and missles it could carry, the Eva couldnt be destroyed.
Support one side or the other, but please give reasons why, like the reason above. no " gundam is sooooooooooooo much coooooooooolllllllerrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111" (its not though.) so if you have a side to support, tell us!
Thank You and Have a Nice Day.

Eva. No question.

Gundam!
Ok, the Eva's design seemingly violates the laws of physics left and right. A Gundam was designed to adhere (as well as possible) to physics and the laws of the universe (their designs incorporate real-world knowledge of robotics and hydraulics).
Plus, some of them have a hellish amount of firepower.
Take Launcher Strike Gundam . . . charge its energy cannon up to full power and wow is it powerful.
Plus, Gundams are only like 60 feet tall . . . that much smaller a target
Why do you say Gundams are not as cool? Just like Eva, the series they are in have lots of interesting philosophy to them, and Gundam is truly an anti-war show at heart. Gundam totally re-definted mecha anime as we know it

Which Gundam and which Eva?
admittedly a good point.

Evangelion because it was a far more philosophical and thought provoking concept.
Gundam was just a bunch of funky japanese mechs blowing eachother up and 17th century lace.
Edit: Oh you mean the actual mech? Yeah that would be a good point.
Shinji would either get very sad or very rageful and that depends alot.
Asuka would just try to kick the gundam's ass for the sheer fact of personal satisfaction
Rei, well that depends. She'd either do it becuase she was told to, or not do it out of sadness.
And then a dummy plug would just try to tear the gundam apart.
Gundam=Shooty shooty.

they both suck.
Full Metal Alchemist and Witch Hunter Robin are much better.

Looks like the only defender of Gundam to post so far (moi) is getting outnumbered
And in response to Zekhaust: Both Gundam and Eva are both very thought provoking and philosophical.
If you are referring to G Gundam, the one exception to Gundam being a good anime, go ahead and bash it (I hated that one too)

That really depends upon which Gundam (and indeed from which Gundam series), and which Eva. Though I would say that for the most part, any of the flight capable gundams would at least be able to escape from an Eva, due to higher mobility and smaller target. Unless the Eva happened to have the Lance of Longinus and a decent targetting system, in which case most things are screwed. Even if the Gundam is landbound, being a smaller target it can possibly still evade, and if it can cut the power cables that means they just have to hide and go shoot for five minutes 'til the Gundam runs out of juice. Unless it's unit 1, or 5 and higher, and then it either goes berserk in self defense or continues to operate on it's S2 organ's power. But for the most part, I doubt any of the Gundams could reasonably penetrate a decent AT field.. I mean, in the first episode of Evangelion we see an Angel with AT field walking out of a nuclear ground zero, for the most part structurally unharmed.

Actually Eva was fairly good and i really liked wing, but FMA is only good if your talking about the sub, then it rocked, and WHR was only so-so (never saw the sub)

Eva's alright, but then the director said "fuck you" to the fans and made EoE
I like WHR because-as far as I've seen-there's been no year-long storylines, where you miss one episode and don't understand anything that's going on. Each episode can stand well enough on it's own, which is ideal for me right now.
Granted, I haven't seen much of FMA, but what I've seen I've found rather interesting.
That new GitS, the non-movie one, SUCKS :p.
Which makes me sad, because I love the music for it >_>
I've only seen up to episode 10 of Eva, and I'm risking massive spoiling just being here, but the Evas seem much stronger. On the other hand, the Gundams have a huge advantage in that they can work on the ground, in the air, and in space.

wow. . .you people know way too much about these. I have to say I liked Evangelion (Death&Resurrection) a lot more than any gundam I've ever seen, but that's about all I can input here.
Well, from what I know about the two shows (and movies) it seems like a gundam would win. The first point to this is that a gundam can fly. This makes it virtually impossible to hit. That and the gundam are more used to gun fights, and they are quite adept at avoiding incoming fire. The evas must be attached to a power cord, limiting their mobility. Once the cord is severed, precious few minutes remain before the fight is over. As for the A.T. field, that like the rest of the Eva relies on power, of which the gundam has more of. In all the cartoons I saw of the two, gundams seem to be able to run forever. I know they can't since they comment about them running out of fuel in the cartoon, but with one fighter having an almost impenetrable energy field, and the other coated with a seemingly indestructible metal known as gundanium. It is just a fight of who can last longer, and that, is the gundam. Unless the S2 organ is running, in which case the eva wins by default because the gundam would fly into orbit where it would be untouchable, hence leaving the match.
