The clause they are fighting is one that allows people to check your tax returns on ground of terrorism investigation.
WTF?! This makes no sense; how can access to TAX RETURNS prove you are linked to terrorism . . . ????

Even better, the people who gain this power claim to have no idea where the clause came from. For some reason, I could see the republican from Flordia being behind this. But that's just an ignorant opinion.

I myself don't know, but what people seem to be forgetting is the financial aspect of the War on Terror. It was forgotten after 2002, when known sponsors of terrorism saw their accounts frozen across the globe. Besides, office work is never as dramatic as the FBI raiding a home, or a tank in the street. However, it is important, and they are still working on it.

Like the government knowing what books you check out from the library is going to combat terror?
It is just another control measure like most of the supposed anti-terror legislation.
At least they caught this one and someone is fighting against it.

They are probably after the donation section.
It smells like a red herring. Many people are pissed off about the Patriot act. Do this allows them to go "see we are making sure the goverment is not spying"
Then again, the Repubs probably don't want people seeing they donate to churches that tell their people to vote for them. ;)

well when your W-2 form shows your employer as AL QAIDA. then they assume you are a terrorist
when you put TERRORIST as your occupation then they want to know it.
when your schedule A shows that you donated $10K to hamas then you might be a terrorist.
