Resolved: Blood sports (cock fights, dog fights, bull fights, fox hunting, hog dogging, etc,) should be banned.

Let the debate begin.

They can be very cruel, especially fox hunting and bull fighting, but some are quite fun to watch. Does that make me a bad person.

Define blood sports, I hunt, trap and fish. They all include the slaughter of "innocent" animals. Do they count?
WWJD
Amen.

All the sports I listed involve people pitting animals against each other.

Now see, I was never sure if the second amendment extended to insects or arachnids. But if you say so.

All those generate alot of income though. By Ppl betting and stuff.

No different than pro-boxing, except in a not-so-controlled environment. And the loser usually ends up dead. :D

Except that in boxing the competitors are not set upon by a pack of dogs, the boxers also choose to fight.
Being vegetarian I am against all blood sports, but I don't think banning fishing etc. would be feasable. I do, however, think that fox hunting should definately be banned being, as it is, cruel as fuck.
I don't care whether people will lose jobs because of this ban as their jobs only exist to sustain a cruel, murderous, and outdated past-time. I'm sure slave traders worried about their jobs when slavery was abolished. The point I am making is that a cruel activity must not be allowed to continue just because jobs depend on it.
