I think he means that some people enter political discussions with the aim of insulting anyone of the opposite political affiliation to them.

Yup! That's pretty accurate. I wish I had a nickle for everytime the Mods had to warn people during the elections! I would be a rich man! LOL!

It does make a good drinking game, though. Have a pint every time someone uses the word "democrap" or "republicon", have a shot whenever someone makes a bizarre claim with no evidence and have a cider whenever two people start a really personal slanging match!

Ok, you would have to change it for people with human alcohol tolerance levels. Take a sip of your pint whenever someone mentions a ludicrous conspiracy theory (e.g. all college professors are socialists brainwashing America's youth), take a light sniff of some cider whenever someone gets insulted based on their political affiliation, etc.

I have "discussions" (generally called heated debates) with people but u dont get to have a mellow chat

Some regions have chatrooms, which are generally more chilled out than the main forum. However, you have less people on them, so sometimes it's a bit too slow.

Thats why there should be a couple general ones generally for it.
(a couple as it would get too congested in one)

I like the threads myself. You can actually give and take with a less insane amount of overlapping noise that seems to go on in a lot of the chatrooms I've been in. Sure, it's not as immediate as a chatroom, but instant gratification is the opiate of the lazy.

And because in a chat room, you cant go back and see what idiotic post you made, unlike a forum, it lets you be "more real" if you understand where Im coming from

I getcha, I.S. And that is a good point. It just bugs me when chatrooms get overcrowded and everyones talking over eachother and the posts are flying so fast you barely have time to read what the person(s) you're trying to communicate with have typed. Plus I like to blather sometimes and the threads are great for that. I will agree that a few chatrooms could be an entertaining addition to the forum. I just wish there would be some way to lock out those spoilers who are being fargin iceholes in the chatrooms. I know, I know - pretty intolerant of me, but I scored a 4.5 on that Fascist quiz posted in a thread the other day. Still not quite suire how that happened. :D
