Now I hate Tony Dungy on a personal level, too.

Tony Dungy is a moron (http://espnradio.espn.go.com/espnradio/story?storyId=1925750)

Tony Dungy is the next person to express his objection to the Monday Night Football skit.

What is going on? Am I crazy or was there absolutely nothing wrong with what the skit?

I am beginning to wonder if it had been Tom Brady or any other white player and not Terrell Owens, we wouldn't have heard a word about it.

Does somebody have a link to the skit?

Bah, links aren't working for me today :(

But anyway I thought it was just a matter of time before someone mentioned race in this, but I didn't expect it to be from Dungy heh. For the record I didn't think it was racist.

Coming from someone who lives in Philadelphia, I feel proud about how much news we're getting off this. Thanks everyone! Including Tony Dungy who now I think is a racist.

Like T.O. said, "I always make the front page."

Sixth from the top, you have to sit through some advertisements.

I can't believe you haven't seen one of the million re-airings on various news programs. You aren't missing much anyways.

I didn't see any racial overtones in the skit. I just thought it was tasteless.

C'mon T.O. why apologize about something you don't need to when you don't apologize about the shit you need to apologize for? And once more, he's making the half-assed "I apologize if I offended anybody" non-apology apology that's so typical of athletes these days.

I personally thought before reading Dungy's comments that the backlash over this was largely racially driven. I really think there would have been much less of a problem were it not the single most arrogant black player in the league.

Ah the page finally came up and I was able to read the transcript.

Well I can see where Tony is coming from. I wouldn't say he's racist. You have to understand that men from his generation are very sensitive to the "black male as sexual predator" stereotype.

Well, its nice to see him bring it up again. I don't remember anyone complaining about the "black male as a sexual predator" stereotype of it other than Dungy. I think he did his race a great disservice by perpetuating the stereotype by envoking it.

I didn't like the skit, but I don't think it should have caused this much rancor. Then again, the NFL must still have Boobgate on its mind.

Well like I said I personally didn't find it offensive. I think he's overreacting but it's a generational thing; men his age and older still have memories of a time where a black man would have been killed for less.
