Birdseye view of the Clinton Library opening
Yes, I'm here in Little Rock and my office is right up the street from the library. It's about 55 and drizzling rain, traffic in and out of the downtown area is a slow moving snarl, and someone got my parking space. Limos are everywhere and my husband and I saw Angelina Jolee yesterday. If you have a question I'll answer to the best of my ability as I am not going to leave the warmth and sanity of my office.

Is the doble wide trailer, oops I mean library nice?
LOL!! Well, considering that our governor lived in a triple wide trailer while the mansion was being remodeled, I think the mobile home motiff is appropriate. I haven't seen the inside of the library as yet. They have requested that locals wait until Thanksgiving weekend to visit the library so that out of town visitors may tour it this weekend. A couple of friends were lucky enough to receive tickets to today's events, so I should have a first hand account tonight or tomorrow. I understand that it is really impressive, though. (for a mobile home)

Could you track her down and get her number? Or deliver mine? :) If I never meet her, I'd still be content to know her.

I doubt that we could get anywhere near her if we found her. She had 2 huge bodyguards with her. I didn't speak to her as I was busy carrying my husband's tongue so he wouldn't trip over it. She's as beautiful in person as she is on the screen.

Is there any truth to the rumor that they sell condoms embossed with the presidential seal at this library, or that they have a "ride the mechanical intern" exhibit?
'Cause I'd happily take a greyhound down there this weekend if that were true, y'know. Not that I really need to try mechanically assisted hetero asspacking, but I'm just sayin', is all...

uh...no. Not appropriate.

What's the purpose of "Presidential libraries"?
We're watching the proceedings on a local station here at the office and I can't help but notice something that Presidents Bush, Bush Sr., Clinton, and Carter have in common. When they speak they sound right to me...as in not like a northerner. I guess the drawls have it!
What's the purpose of "Presidential libraries"?
They're really museums to display documents and artifacts relating to that particular president and his years of service. Here in Arkansas, it is also an economic boost. You'll just have to visit Little Rock to get a perspective on the improvements that this library is bringing to our downtown area. Arkansas is known for its food, friendliness, and its beauty. President Clinton and his library have brought people here and allowed them to discover one of the nation's treasures.

In what way? Anyone who knows me on here, knows that I am a Bush supporter and that I have been critical of some aspects of Clinton's term. But, overall, he was a pretty good president. He accomplished a great deal of good and it's a shame that his personal indiscretions sometimes overshadow that. This library is a great asset to our city that was sorely needed and a memorial to 8 years of our nation's history.

Tree true, should have used "is."
Yeah, what's with all your recent presidents being from the South?
Maybe because they're more in touch with a larger portion of the country rather than just the urban areas? The southern way is to be open, friendly, and communicative, to say what you mean, and to honor your promises. Southerners have proven in recent years that we are educated, ambitious, creative, and we all have at least one pair of good shoes.
Lunch time. Since none of the restaurants around here are delivering, we're going to make the trek out and hope we can find something to eat. Later.

Thank you for your opinion Ms. Lewinsky. We all get the point that you think he's a great man.......... :p
I wouldn't go as far as saying he was one of the finest. He was definately good and was one hell of a speaker, but there are a few presidents higher up on my finest list.

It looks like the clinton library was probably funded in part by the oil-for-food program.

I think most of us, regardless of political ideology, could agree that Clinton was rather corrupt. Nowhere near Nixon or Reagan, but corrupt nonetheless.

Most will agree, but few will admit it. I think he was more corrupt than Nixon. Reagn can't compete with clinton for corruption.

I'd say comparible to Nixon and Reagan wasn't nearly as corrupt as either of those two.

Little known fact: Southern accents are actually the correct way to speak.
Consider this: Bostonians always leave out the letter "R", other Northern accents are just weird.

However, when you try to get a sales job for many major companies (such as BMW), they send you to the midwest to learn their "accent," because it's considered the "least wrong," or blandest and most acceptable. Same with several schools for acting, and several advertising firms.
Reagan wasn't nearly as corrupt as either of those two.
So... Iran-Contra, Afghanistan, and Dunce Pack are small fries compared to Watergate and Whitewater? His were actually a threat to the security of our nation, on top of being moneymaking schemes, yknow...
...inappropriate...
Facts are facts, and I'm sure it'd bring in extra revenue :D
