What would you have done if you were Joseph?

I mean if you were Joseph and came in and your girlfriend Mary told you that she'd been conversing with the angel Gabriel, was pregnant and the child was the son of god and so she was still a Virgin what would you have thought?

a) Crazy bitch! Angel Gabriel indeed!

b) Lying bitch! She's been shagging that guy in the inn with the stable round the back! I'll get him back the bastard. We'll turn up on his door and ask if we can deliver it right there!

c) Son of a bitch, God must be hung like a Grand National winner!

d) Don't tell the bitch that even though she wanted to remain a virgin you've been slipping one in her while she's been asleep otherwise she'll kill ya!

I find it amusing that Jesus's dad could have been some random from up the street who got lucky one night..

Mary? Why are you unclothed so late in the day?
Oh, uhh... nothing.
What's that noise?
What noise?
Hey there's some guy in the closet!
Hello.
Oh crap... I mean.. wait... that's an angel.
What?!
Yeah... I'm an angel. Hi, my name is Gabe.
An angel huh... well where's your wings?
Uhhhh...?
Joseph, do not question the Lord's ways!
Oh yeah, sorry Mary.
Wow. A real angel... Would you like to stay for dinner?

Actually according to the bible Matthew Chapter 1:19,

After the angel had spoken to Mary, and Mary told Joseph that she was pregnant. Joseph wanted to divorce Mary.

Then in Matthew 1:20, the angel reappeared to Joseph as well, to tell him that she's not a lying bitch sleeping with the barn boy.

Personally, I find this "joke" extremely offensive. What if something you strongly believed in was joked upon to a point that you took great offense to it? I assume it's happened to you before, so why do you dish it out? Think about that. Also, did it ever occur to you that this was a public forum and that you might offend someone here? If the answer is yes, then you must've done it just to offend those people, or to try to make others laugh without caring about the first group's feelings and beliefs.

I joke and poke fun at the things that I strongly believe in all the time myself. Grow a funny bone.

You based your beliefs behind a joke first.

I find your comment very offensive. People who get offended at jokes offend me because they make me feel like humour, something I have in great estimation and use every day of my life, makes me an evil, or stupid person.

I hope you can see how you are hurting people by your... erm... offendedness.

This is what I meant when I said, "Let the flaming commence."

Explain to me exactly why it was offensive. Did he say Mary was a slut? No. Did he say anything derogatory about Joseph, or God, or the Angel Gabriel? No. He simply pointed out how we might react confronted with Joseph's situation. Which can only give credit to Joseph for reacting in the way that he did. He acted with great faith. Personally I think he showed what a nice person Joseph must of been. And how could that be offensive?

oooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiii:(:(:(:(:(oooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

How come nobody took not of my answer?

I already pointed out.. Joseph called Mary's bluff, and wanted a divorce!

Then an angel came to him and told him not, if not he'll bring down the flaming fireballs from the sky and melt him. He didn't actually acted with great faith you know. :(

Anyway, Jesus was Joseph's biological son.

I apologise. I didn't read your post, but since I have little faith in anything I probably wouldn't have believed it anyway. ;)

Wouldn't this be the same thing as artificial insemination? Maybe Gabriel was a doctor from the future and he just injected a fertile egg in Mary. Sounds as plausible as some angel knocking her up.

Hear, hear! Anyway, Feuerlande, you didn't have to read it if you were going to be so offended - I mean, the title of the thread kind of gives its content away...

Anyhow, I chose (b). However, I saw a documentary ages ago that using alleged evidence (can't remember for the life of me what the so-called evidence was, I'm afraid), that in all probability Joseph impregnated Mary. It was somewhat convincing, but I still like option (b) better :D
