Liberal Racism

Regarding the following:

http://************/7x7qu

http://************/52dhy

If a conservative would dare draw such grotesque and racist parodies of a black liberal, the Old Liberal Media would be calling for heads to roll, sensitivity training, and who knows what. However, seeing as conservative black people aren't "real" black people, as they have strayed off the liberal plantation, it is open season.

Racism is alive and well and it lives in the Liberal Media.

*sigh*

I don't understand the reference in the first one. But in the second one it is obvious that they are portraying Condi as a parrot because she is just a yesman (or yeswoman I guess).

But I think a couple more cartoons might prove that the media is a bunch of liberal racists.

the 2nd one is no way racist

the first seems to be...but I am not familiar with the meaning of the tubes...is this an American thing?

Because two interfuckingnet cartoons make up the entire "liberal media"

You're past just grasping for straws at this point.

Plus, the second one isn't even racist. No points for you.

I find it very racist and sexist. I'm offended by the manner in which the
cartoonist has used that sort of slurred speech for a black woman. I'm
offended that an artist uses a woman as a man's pet parrot. Liberals
find this stuff funny, and they want my vote?

I believe the aluminium tubes reference deals with evidence used to go to war with Iraq, because aluminium tubes can in someway be tied to the production of nuclear missiles.

UH-OH, a woman who's black is being slandered, that must mean it's racist! I mean, if we did it to George W. it would be perfectly fine because he's white!
Cosgrach

eh I think the tubes is a reference to the aluminum tubes that Iraq supposedly had for their nuclear weapons program. And yes I'd say the first cartoon is highly offensive.

She is a parrot because she seems like a puppet for this administration, not because she is a woman. The same comparison could have been made for Powell when he went in front of the UN even though he did not agree with what he was saying.

And I still don't get the reference of the first one. I assume it is a movie, but without knowing the reference I can't say whether it is racist or not.

I think the cartoonist doesn't care about the race. He just cares about the fact that she is almost as bad a choice for secretary of state as Mr. Texas Tigah himself.

Personally well I don't get the refference of the first one I do think the style is a little suspect. The seconed one though I see no problem with it is just ment to show her as a yes(wo)man that says what ever the administration wants I dont see how that is sexist or racist theyed probably use the same analogy with anyother yesperson that was apointed.

The second cartoon is accurate. Racist only works if its on race. Her acting like a parrot is notr a race issue.

The first cartoon deals with race because she uses slang /Ghetto-speak. Is it rascist? Questionable yes; accurate, don't know.

Come on now, don't ignore the greater point that there is no way a conservative could draw even one similar cartoon about a black person and get away with it. Jesse Jackson, the NAACP, Al Sharpton and the rest of that crowd would swoop down so fast it would make your head spin.

I got a newsflash, no one ever ran the first cartoon. It has never been in a newspaper. It was only on the the cartoonists website, and he withdrew it.

The cartoonist, Jeff Danziger, is a freelance cartoonist who used to draw for the Christian Science Monitor. He said he got the idea when he was with some actors and fellow cartoonists, african-americans included, who "were doing schtick from 'Gone With the Wind,' with Rice as Prissy."

That would be wrong, considering the fact that its on the INTERNET, not a real news source/publication. People on the INTERNET tend to make all kinds of statements, none of which have to represent either a left or right wing stance. One person draws cartoons you find offensive and somehow that is an indictment of liberal thought everywhere?

I'd say she is, in fact, highly intelligent. Just take a look at her business interests...

She's very clever, and very greedy. Perfectly appropriate for the job. Her race and gender has nothing to do with anything. When the guy who does The Boondocks drew her as Darth Vader, was that racism?

You need to quit arguing your point. Condi is a very smart woman, probably smarter than you or I, I surmise.

Neither of these cartoons are about her being stupid. The first one portrays her as Prissy from "Gone With the Wind". As kind of a servent for this administration, it can be viewed as racist, although I believe it is more of an attack on Rice's willingness to pander to those in power than an attack on race. The second is also a statement about her cronyism.

I believe that neither refers to race (although, the first is open to interpretation) or stupidity.

You are really trying to grasp at straws. You can't take something that appeared only on the author's own website and turn it into an indictment of the "liberal" media, or even just liberals. And it appears that the author didn't "get away with it". You jumped on him pretty quick, and I bet you weren't the only one complaining.
As to the second cartoon, I really can't see that there is any explicit, or even implied, racial slur or caricature there. It's just a caricature of Condi, and has nothing to do with her race.

Its not nice to mock people. White or Black. Liberal or Conservative. Although it is not nice, it is however protected under the Bill of rights. Left and right will always attack each other. Accept it as a fact of life and move on.

It depends how high profile the cartoonist is. If Michael Moore had drawn the cartoons, there would have been a bit of a shitstorm. A lot of political cartoons take quite an offensive tone anyway.
