Well, Powell did do his job, and I think he is tired. He probably doesn't have the stamina to serve another four years with all of his diplomatic jobs, especially at his age. Rice is a pretty good replacement, although if Rumsfeld resigned, I think she'd be equallly qualified to be Defense Secretary. They're becoming so much alike, nowadays, and will continue to grow alike in this new era.
