*sigh* One of the few people in the administration I actually respected... Another few years, and moderates won't be able to get into politics, period.

Well, Condi is a very good replacement. She worked just as hard as Powell on foreign policy, and on some issues, even more. Besides, no other candidate for that position carries Rice's prestige.

Isn't Rice closer to Bush's fundamentalist agenda the Powell?

That sounds somewhat racsist.

Yes. Powell was the only real moderate in the administration, and didn't get heard a whole lot as a result.

Dear God! Can any one of you guys actually offer a real explenation on why you don't like her? She is not doing this for sexual favors. She's married, for God's sake, and so is he. They're both faithful, too.

OK. She's a bible thumper. I don't like bible thumpers. But she still wants Bush's cock. ;)

So what? I could care less if she was a Hindu extremist. Her views on foreign policy are the only things that interest me, and I like them.

But I don't like the idea that her views on foreign policy could be influenced by her religious beliefs.

Yeah, I'm dissappointed to see Powell leave. As for Rice... at least I know who she is. "The evil you know over the evil you don't."

Both Bush and Rice are Christians. Powell (being a moderate) probably isn't.

Thats what they want you to think. But while they are shielded by the SS, who learned their lesson after the Clinton debacle in the Oral office, they have orgies with the entire administration. And some sheep and goats.

Big deal. Every person has their principles based on something, and it may be faith. If there are no principles or ideaologies in policy, then one is condemned as a realist who does nothing but defend the status quo, even if it is unacceptable.

What? That's the biggest peice of bullshit I've heard all day. Powell is a loyal Episcopalian. Men of faith are across the political spectrum.

I completely agree. There is no such thing as a Liberal Christian. What Christian in their right minds would agree with abortion, gay marriage, and legalizing marijuana?

Rice is a faithful lapdog of the Bush administration who will toe the party line as defined by Dubya, Dick, Scooter Lewis (Cheney's Chief of Staff) and Wolfowitz (Deputy Defense Sec). It's the PNAC foreign policy, and she'll spout it as written without questions.

Powell was unreliable - he was a known thinker, and that's dangerous to PNAC.

Who'll be the new NSA? State's just been marginalized, so NSA is now relevant again.

Okay, so maybe that was a bit of an outburst on my part. But why do Bush and Rice even have interest in eachother? If Bush has a sex scandal alla Clinton, it'll be with another big-breasted intern.

Considering that 75% of the country is Christian, and a majority support abortion, gay civil unions, and less harsh penalties for minor drug possession, obviously there are plenty of progressives who happen to be Christian.

Rice won't talk to the press about their affair. She's just giving lip services to Bush to get a new job. And it worked as you can see.

its sexist to suppose that a professional woman like rice couldnt work for a man like george bush without falling in love with him. as far as i can see she admires him and supports his policies in the world

The minute I saw this it became apparent why the White House wanted the CIA resignations to wait until today. The news would be overshadowed by Powell's resignation. There goes the only person of integrity in the Bush administration. Now for the politicizing of the rest.
