i would be concerned. i would explain to the child that they are free to choose to be heterosexual, but i would also explain that heterosexuality puts them at greater risk for STDs and unplanned pregnancies. i would educate them about the studies showing that heterosexuals are far more likely to commit acts of sexual violence, and that heterosexuality is correlated with increased likelihood of being a child molester. i would encourage the child to be careful not to fall into the traditional "straight lifestyle," where gender roles and religiously-rooted beliefs reduce relationships to nothing more than opportunities for procreation; i would want any child of mine to know love and companionship, and traditional "straight" values place such things secondary to physical reproduction. i would also be concerned about the devaluing of the institution of marriage that is common in straight culture, and would hope that my straight child would not fall into the same traps of infidelity, divorce, and multiple re-marriages, as more than half of the straight people in America do

I believe there are two answers to this:
1. Die very quickly as all plants die
2. Take up Sun-god worshipping

Just in case you weren't aware, a large majority of offspring are openly heterosexual. I think you should rephrase this to say that if the parent was homosexual (in which case it's unlikely you have biological children anyways). But plase, come up with a more intelligent or better worded scenerio.

Yes, I was thinking along the lines of "I'd be sort of shocked to find out they weren't!" rather than being shocked to find out they were heterosexual.

I would explain to the child that our Lord does not look upon those with that preference in sexuality lightly. Then I would have a servant of our Lord come over and teach him how he is supposed to be.
