I have nothing personal against George W. Bush, however I take issue with his regime's attitude towards regulating the personal lives and imposing their own set of morals upon the whole of the nation at the expense of our civil liberties.

Economically, I find it difficult to understand how anyone could support his policies. Take a look at what his policies are and you find a simularity to Reagonomics, wich didn't work in the 80's either. Over the past four years of Dubya's policies, our economy has shown no signs of recovery. The gap between the rich and the poor has grown. Bush's administration has supported and passed into law policies that benefit businesses that send their production overseas by giving them tax breaks. This, of course, only benefits the larger businesses that can do this, hurting smaller businesses. He has also cut the nation's income, while increasing it's spending. That's not healthy for a nation's economy by any stretch of the imagination and it certainly doesn't help education, or anything else Bush claims he plans to improve in his second term. Not to mention that conservative economy pundits have been very critical of Bush's policies, saying that they will not work. They said the same thing 4 years ago. Time has proven them to be correct then, why do people think that the same policies will suddenly work now?

Bush's foreign policies are nothing less than frightening. He stated before the election that he plans to cut off talks with North Korea. Only one thing can come of that, and it's not N. Korea's magical turn around and disarmament. Also, shortly after the election, the newspapers were suddenly filled with reports that Washington is abuzz with talks of a pre-emptive invasion of Iran.

Why? Well, Iran started up their nuclear program again, once Iraq was dealt with. Funny that Bush and his administration completely forgot that Iraq was what kept Iran in check. That's the reason we supported Saddam to begin with. Still, despite all intelligence to the contrary (and despite what people say these days, about how Bush was handed CIA reports saying Iraq was a threat, anyone who can remember back more than 2 years will recall that to be blatantly false, and also recall the scandal where Bush's administration was accused of coaxing the people in intelligence to agree with them that Iraq was a threat, this was before we went to war), we declared Iraq to be a threat and broke their kneecaps. Then afterwards, we found that the initial reports and U.N. inspectors had been completely, 100% correct, and that Bush had lied. I live in a nation where a man can be impeached for getting a blow job from an intern, but nobody even thinks to impeach a man for lying to the nation, and forcing us into an unwarranted war that costs thousands of human lives.

Just out of curiousity, how many of you complaining voted? Little tip, IF YOU DIDN'T VOTE, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN!!! for those of you outside of the US, well, you are entitled to your opinion and i will respect it for i have little liking for many of Bush's policies.

While i can understand that many are upset by the resultsof the election, i think many of you need to rethink the problems we face. Imagine the way Iraq would turn out if Kerry were elected. While i have no doubt Kerry would be better for the economy and foreign policy, i think it foolish to think he would handle the war better. Add to that the current problems with the Palistinians following Arafat's death and you had a bad candidate. Just a thought. Point is that this thread is a flame. Meaning, IT IS NOT ALLOWED FOR IT IS INTENDED NOT FOR CONVERSATION BUT CONSTANT DERAILING OF BUSH AND ANYONE THAT SUPPORTS HIM!!! READ THE RULES OF THE BOARD BEFORE YOU POST.

Other than that, yes, bush is kinda idiotic at times, but i voted for him, so i won't say much against him.

Something like c++ we probably would need a sarcasm class
so we would have a command such as

cout<<sarcasm(input_statement, quality);

Then it would output the correct amount of sarcasm in the correct quality

The real George W. Bush died years ago. What we've been looking at since is a state of the art robot posing for the late GWB. The device on its back was just another enhancement that didn't get the deadline for build-in.

We'll have another four years now to assess its movements (still jerky) and speech capacities (still limited) not to speak of its motives (still dark).

Afterwards it can maybe be sent to the moon.

I'll be the first to admimt there is a lot to disagree with in GW's beliefs. However, the opening post of this thread is a shining example of what's wrong with the US. There is no intelligent content, only a plaintitive whine about GW. I'm fairly certain the poster has no real understanding of the issues facing our nation, rather is just parroting a belief that has been hammered into him by either a.) his friends, b.) the media (truly scary thought, eh? Remember the Maine and how Hearst got us into a war?), or c.) his teachers. There is no attempt to apply reason, just a knee-jerk response. It scares me that so much of our population are sheep that can be led this way. Baaa...baaa...

And before you bash me as some "neocon" (I love how the exteme Left has even come up with a catchy, ominous sounding label...), an even beter example of this following-without-thinking phenomenom can be seen in the Religious Right. They discourage any questioning of the belief system almost as much as the liberal power system.

So, wake up, America, put down the Kool Aid, and THINK about your country. Strive to understand. Critically evaluate the "data" you recieve. And if you truly want to learn, challenge your most closely held beliefs the most. Mark Twain said it a long time ago - in a Democracy, the people may not get the government they want, but they will certainly get the government they deserve.

I'm assuming only the US has a sizeable population with that dangerous combination of wealth (access to computers/the Internet) and ignorance <grin>. No, you make a good point (and we don't even know that the poster is a "he" either...). It just seemed to be the kind of thing some little script-kiddy with more bile than sense would write.

OK, I expand my plea to beyond the US borders, to ask everyone to apply a little more critical thinking to their belief systems.
