I loved watching the Republican convention for the same reason. A whole turnip truck full of weekend cowboys must have stopped off on Madison Avenue.

I already knew "sorryeverybody.com", a very sweet and cute site that almost makes me think there's a form of intelligent life in the USA... and I just love werenotsorry.com, I've just spend 10 minutes laughing my head off at these redneck trigger-happy morons - I suspect actually that it's some anti-bush who created the site to make fun of pro-bush idiots.

That other site would appear to be down...

If it really is a parody, then the Pro-Bushies have fallen for it. I've seen dozens of conservatives and rednecks linking to it proudly. :P

...one site expresses a disgust and a fear for the future of the rest of the world with Dubya in for another four years.

The other site shows a bunch of nutters waving guns around and hooting that they're glad them Euro-peons aren't in control of THEIR country, dang it!

Personally, I prefer the Americans in the first one... who seem to be aware of a world beyond their borders which isn't theirs to trample all over.

Ah, but the people running wearesorry are stupider. There's at least one photoshopped pic of Neville Chamberlain and quite a few other sarcastic pics. The women on werenotsorry on average look better too.

No. Kerry got 56,000,000 votes (give or take) and that's not even close to half of the country. On the other hand, Bush only got 59,000,000 votes, which is just under 1/3rd of the country.

Neither candidate came even close to half. Hell, neither even came close to half of the amount of voting age citizens!

I think my president shouldn't claim to have a "mandate" when all but about 2 states he won were won by less than a 5% margin, as was the nationwide popular vote.

However, I don't think I'm going to have much opportunity to change that idiocy.

Well I buy into that mentality a bit, since about 90% of the people I know in real life are staunchly Republican and are, quite frankly, ignorant of the issues facing the country with four more years of Bush. I know that's anecdotal evidence and certainly doesn't apply to everyone, and most of the time I try carefully to avoid saying "you should all be shot", but there's definitely a good reason this mentality exists.

I saw a study a while back that showed that a majority of Bush supporters were ignorant of the actual issues, as well as both candidates' stances on them. Kerry supporters generally understood the issues at hand and Bush's stance, but were sometimes wrong about Kerry's stance. ((if I remember correctly))

Mmm the get over it tactic...works everytime...Shame no one is listening, shame Bush is a fundamentalist Bible bashing yahoo and it's hard to get over the fact your country is ruining the world and it's civil rights. You talk so much about how other countries should stay out of your business, than go and gloat about how friggin brilliant you are at coming into others countries and "Improving" there "democracy". Interesting.

Maybe some of them, both sides have a few "blind extremists" that believe anything they are told which supports their beliefs but deny anything which doesnt.

Yet I support the idea of Democracy in Iraq but not how the coalition has gone about it. The idea was good but very poorly planned and executed in my opinion.

Also just because others are alittle ignorant and talk other people down for whatever reason doesnt mean you have to sink to their level.

Im not American so im ignorant to what is happening with the Mexicans, can someone please fill me in? with as little bais as possible please, I like to make up my own mind

I could say most of the people I know that are against Bush had their views because he talks funny. However between the people we know we do not really get a representation of the majority do we, I have talked to intelligent people from both sides on NS, I would rather think they represent the majority, as optimistic as it sounds

From that it sounds like the whole country is racist, hopefully you just mean it is difficult to immigrate into the country, if so it sounds similar to my country. Where unfortunately it is a very long process and illegal immigrants/Asylum Seekers, are forced to wait in detention while their claims are processed which is deplorable and unfair.

Unfortunately it is unpractical to let everyone in if they can not contribute to society as it would destroy the economy and lower the standard of living of everyone else which is unfair.

Hence I don’t have a solution, but its a necessary evil but I would be much happier if the system moved faster

It is not *extremely* difficult to immigrate, but the process does include a lot of BS. And yes, people here don't like Mexicans, we tend to think of them all as illegal immigrants stealing our jobs.
