Does it really matter if you're being cussed out in 1337? I mean... It's probably just some fat guy that doesn't have any real friends and watches anime movies obsessivly. Unless your life is as bad as that you shouldn't really bother.

Here's the translation with some necessary human editing/commentary (in brackets, of course):

This is leet pos [piece of shit] iplot [pilot(?)]. and yeah I'm for girls who know how to speak it [1337 (?)] cuz I'm sciking [fucking (?)] awesome. beetotch.

The first sentence is pretty much unintelligible. Perhaps he was talking about something in context. We can only assume the 'it' he's referring to is leet...so basically he's on the prowl for nerdettes. And the last statement, obviously is an insult, though usually a trivial or nonchalant one, placed if only to add closure. (Call me an expert on nerd culture if you must.)

Contextually, I'd say that was meant to be "idiot".

According to any reliable sources I have heard, leet as its called originated back in the door bbs days, telnet and stuff. Back then there were filters that would tag certain words about objectional content. So porn became pron became pr0n became pr0|\|. Hack became hax became ha><.

It actually does have some sort of strange natural evolution.

Leet speak is for people who:
Like to make something up and then call other people idiots for not understanding.
Cannot understand the difference between letters, numbers and symbols.
Use cracking programs and then tell everyone how awesome they are at "hacking".

*Removes his ranting helmet*. Leet speak is just annoying, people use it to impress the weak minded of the computer world. People who speak in leet are more likely than not to know nothing at all about computers.

Uh, 2 quick questions: what does WOOT! mean? What does LMAO mean?

w00t comes from 'what!', like 'what the fuck!'. Its an exclamation of surprise, joy or admiration.

LMAO means Laughing My Ass Off. Other variations: ROFL: Rolling Over Floor Laughing; LOL: Laughing Out Loud. (though lol is also a normal dutch word, meaning 'fun').

Welcome to the internet :)

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is a n00b?

Here's how i see it:

-A newbie is someone who's not good at something (like hacking or playing a pc game), and realizes that.
-A n00b is someone who's not good but doesnt realize it. The kind of guy that thinks he's the best at cs for making one kill, and then gets knived :D

Nonsense. they mean exactly the same. Noob (I refuse to write "n00b"), is just an "evolved" for of newbie. The word newbie has been around for about 120 years. In the glory years of steam engines, aprentices were called newbies on the continent. It quickly spread.

w00t, though of ambigous origins, means 'yay,' but in a more nerdy and (to some) masculline way.

LMAO = laughing my ass off.

The fact that you do not know these things means that you have no unhealthy addictions to computers yet do not have the resources to look them up on google. Congrats.

lol that reminds me of something that happened in my high school we acutally had two kids get in a fist fight over if anime is a cartoon or not, and these were best friends its not like they were trying to find a reason to fight or something. They were really that pathetic.

I have to agree. Noob(i hate it too) is just newbie distorted. Why spend so much time destroying a language. Things like LOL are alright cause they make things easier to type but its just getting annoying.

HEY, why not. An NS L337 <-> Plainspeak Dictionary

The problem is that depending on the context, a single symbol can mean several different letter and a single letter can be represented by a number of different symbols. Also, symbols can represent syllables (such as "I h8 j00 n00bz).

It's like translating Japanese into English using a Russian dictionary.

It's like translating Japanese into English using a Russian dictionary.but the basics are there... Noob or n00b is the same... right? h8 = hate (I'm guessing) Japanese is constantly growing but the basic Kana is there. Pidgeon English (Officially the Unofficial Language of Hawaii) has words that even I've never heard of. but L337 is almost international... i think... well it has the possibility of being international.
