With all the coverage and tributes of head former lead of the PA I was just wondering what people's general thoughts on him were.

A sinning saint he was.

he certainly wasnt a saint
but he did make sure that the whole world payed attention to the plight of the palestinians for the past 30 years. what other oppressed people can say that their leaders have had as much success?

Anyway, my answer: Great guy, no doubt, but no saint. Sinner? My definition of "sin" is probably different than yours, but from what I've seen, nah ... not a sinner either.

If you go by the Catholic definition, all saints are sinners.

The phrase "saint or sinner" wasn't meant to be interpreted literally, I just wanted to hear some general opinions.

well, sinner is too good for him, maybe satan.
he was super terrorist, lead the palastinian corruption to new highs, retreat his nation an the israeli leaders, take hundreds of milions from the palastinian peoples, and ruined every chance for peace.
I think that now in hell, he will punched by all the terrorist he lead, because he lied to them all that years.

I really hope now, after the dog is down, we get the peace we need, and the palastinians get the countrey they almost had, before he crash that chance.

He put them in their plight. He stole Humanitarian aid money that was meant for the Palestinians and gave it to the terror groups. He then claimed that it was Israel taking the money. The people kept getting poorer and poorer. Then, they were getting so poor, that they went and blew themselves up. Arafat lied and tricked his people out of money, he was the worst kind of terrorist. People like him deserve a long, slow, painful death, unlike the ones that the people hit by his suicide bombers got.

I hope he spends eternity in hell, having to be anally raped by john holmes for eternity. Also he'll have to eat feces for eternity. So yes I guess he is a sinner.
