And please don't post spoilers for people who haven't played all of halo2 yet.

The rumor mill says yes, next February for the Xbox2. The rumor is that Microsoft is going to hold on to Halo 3 and not release it for the Christmas season, but instead wait until the PS3 comes out in early 2006, and release it on the same day as that.

You've got till February 2006 if you are to believe the rumors. And you'll have to buy an XBox2.

I can't wait that long. Damn you Bill gates.
Have you heard anything about the xbox2. Should I get one? I 've actually been thinking of waiting for PS3, because the PS platform seems to have more games?
I'm so conflicted.
Halo 2 was great though. I really laughed at Laura Prepon's cameo part.

Well, the PS3 has been backed up by hardware issues from a Christmas 2005 release to a Spring 2006 one, so you can take that any way you want. Either way, the XBox2 and the PS3 are going to be beasts. The hardware will be comprable.

main question though for most people (not me i have the tri-fecta, and will continue to) will you be able to play xbox games on xbox2 and ps1/2 game on ps3. i say this becouse this is the why the gameboy has lasted so long

Yes. Supposedly they will both be backwards-compatible.

I'm just peeved about the lack of a Halo2 for PC project. Everything I've been reading says that it probably won't be ported over - and if it is, it won't be for a year or so.

That is very much unknown. Bungie is ultra-secretive about storyline.

It will be, but you can expect the same major delay as the Halo One experienced. The fact is that MS never intended to make their X-Box games for any platform than the X-Box (that is, games they made, not third parties). Thereby their decision to make that leap has left them somewhat behind. Halo 2 will likely be the last to have this bubble gap though, as once the X-Box 2 comes out, MS will not make that same mistake again.

Considering they're releasing a version of the XBox2 that will fully function as a PC.

Another one of my concerns about xbox2 though, is that microsoft ditched nVidia for the graphics chipset and they are doing it in house instead. I wonder if there will be problems with that because it is there first time out.
