Just thought I'd share (http://www.sharedvoice.org/unamerican/pop.html)

Hope no one else has posted this in the last few hours.

If you're right-wing, you won't appreciate it. Save yourself the time and go gloat about the bloody election or something.

Peace... wiping out all of human kind in one fell swoop, and letting something better evolve... whatever :D

And hey, I'm bitter. Being a dirty socialist and all, I think I have very good reason to be.

I'm an anti-war left wing anti-american and all that stuff, but that thing (especially the song) was really gay.

Wow there are anti americans? How can you be a Global liberator when your anti-american?

Anyway, that song was great. It put to words something that I've always felt about the war and the adminiustration. They try to stop disswent by calling other traitors when dissent is patriotic. We would not have United States of America with out dissenters.

Nice quotes too.

I made an interesting observation. All the Revolutions we have stuck our hand in was started by the people. However one revolution, the one in Iraq against Saddam Hussian was us forcing the people. Maybe they were happy like that? Anyway to get to Iraq Bush lied to us two times (WMD, Al Quada) before going to Iraq. He even states "I am a war president, when I look at issues I have war on my Mind." Thats very scary. Imagine him having treatys with Russia or France and getting us into a war with them. That would be mass chaos. Any way that was to much thinking. That was a good movie I think. Also another observation was I saw all the right wings were in the worst states for education and the left wing states have the best education. Makes you think. Except the Right wings can't think. So only the Liberals do...

The song/flash thingie itself was rather good. I encourage anyone to see it. It's put baisically all of my problems with the administration to a tune. It's also got things I disagree with, but that's fine.

Heeeyyyy, I have an idea, let's use a quote from the same man who said this The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. and who would, by the standards of today, be so pro gun that it would make Charlton Heston look like a RINO. Cause, you know, noooooooonnnnnnnee of us are anti-gun at all.

Holy shit Right-Wingers think! There IS hope! :D

That was a joke - its a common believe unfortuantely among the extreme left in the US, among the supposed intellectuals that right-wing, especially those tailoring to the conservatives dont do much thinking for themselves.

I know the inherent problem with stereotyping so you can trust me when I say I mean the above as meaningless pun.

Slideshow was put together well from an artistic point of view. However, it oversimplifies everything about the war. Most of those protestors are people who are so far left-wing or are simply there to protest because they can. Seeing signs like "war for oil" or "stop occupying Iraq for Halliburton" just shows how little they know about why we went to war. Why are you protesting that a dictator was taken out? You know who else was suprised to find out Saddam had no WMDs? His own generals. He wa fooling everyone so he could use that perception of power to negotiate or intimidate his neighbors better. What better way to keep Iran at bay?

Where's all this oil revenue we're supposed to be generating if we went to war for oil? Last I heard was that the money from oil revenue was being used to rebuild Iraq. Oh, that's why you keep mentioning Halliburton! Well, let's see how did they get into such a good position? Number one: they are the best at what they do. Number two: the US gov't always has bids between many companies in case just such a thing happens like us going to war and having to rebuild a country. During Clinton's terms, Halloburton was in the same position it is in today. Top of the list for US contracts. Keep saying Halliburton got no-bid contracts. It's a distortion. There was no bidding once war started because Halliburton had already outbid all the other companies years ago.

So I guess I'll take your advise from the first few posts: HAHAHAHA not only did we win the Presidential election, but we took out your leader, Tom Daschle (spelling?) while also solidifying our power in Congress. Enjoy the next four years! :D

I enjoy this. I didn't necessarily agree with stuff (the wealth redistribution bit ain't with me), but I thought the slide show was well done.

The song wasn't all that good, like I posted earlier, seemed like it wanted to be Imagine, just without John Lennon.

I felt it too. Specially the "let´s all sing along" (or something) ending.
But anyway, it was a good song and it´s not bad to remember "imagine" at times like these.
Too bad peace-loving people are jokes now...

The only states thaat had any Bush approval close to anything like 70% wer txas and alabama. so the educational system is really nothing to care that much. since the 55% dumb ones were educated the same as the 45% smart ones.

Because any serious amount of wealth redistribution does not work. That and essentially a capitalist society is an economic bell curve. This means that as the upper end of the spectrum gets richer the poor get richer too, but because of the nature of the way the bell curve works they get poorer in relation to the rich. Even thought they are better off than before.I would not mind SocSec and Medicare etc.. etc.. if they were used as they were meant to be. They were meant to be emergency funds for if something catastrophic ocurred. NOT as entitlement programs.

While it is true that more "intellectuals" voted for Kerry the greater part of the inner city poor also voted for Kerry, and last time I checked they didn't exactly have the best education.

Overgeneralization, and mostly inaccurate. I participated in a wide variety of forms of protest with a great number and variety of people, and the types you describe were rare in my experience. They do, however, make for more exciting news stories.

Seeing signs like "war for oil" or "stop occupying Iraq for Halliburton" just shows how little they know about why we went to war. Why are you protesting that a dictator was taken out?
You can't fit a dissertation on a placard. Additionally, I've posted it here before, and I'll be glad to do so again if you so desire; there is a paper written as a poly sci master's thesis, that tracked the administration's given reason for the invasion if Iraq between Sept 11 and the invasion. It is well-documented and supported. The administration gave over 30 reasons, each one specifically presented as "The Reason." Of course people are confused; none of us know what "the reason" was. You are also committing a straw man fallacy by stating that people were "protesting that a dictator was taken out." People were protesting the method.

You know who else was suprised to find out Saddam had no WMDs? His own generals. He wa fooling everyone so he could use that perception of power to negotiate or intimidate his neighbors better. What better way to keep Iran at bay?
Saddam was a clever man, no doubt about it. However, I recall the administration making claim to the amount of WMD he had; citing specific numbers of various weapons.

So I guess I'll take your advise from the first few posts: HAHAHAHA not only did we win the Presidential election, but we took out your leader, Tom Daschle (spelling?) while also solidifying our power in Congress. Enjoy the next four years! :D
I will enjoy it, but for vastly different reasons than you.

You know what I hate. I hate the fact that people expressing disatisfaction with the actions of the current administration are labeled un-patriotic or worse. Does anyone here remember some of the things that were said about the last president and his administration? Or who said them? Yes the situation in this country has become polarized. Why? Ask the Republican party that question. And before anyone screams "left wing nut case" let me inform you that I used to be a Republican. Think about it. Why has "liberal" become the equivalent of a four letter word. Why is the 1st Amendment of our Constitution under attack. Why are O'Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh and Fox News "fair and balanced" while CNN, ABC, CBS and Dan Rather "liberal biased media"? People, what the f--k happend to our country and why aren't we all up in arms? When I joined the military in '91, I swore an oath to "defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic". The same oath that all military and elected officials are required to take. And yet those same individuals are the ones that are attacking the very thing they are sworn to defend.

I did not think that the video was "gay" or inaccurate. I thought it was sad that an American had to create something like that to bring to peoples attention that we are no longer who we claim to be.

You're right, that's obviously communist, but I don't think that's what he meant. A lot of people, a lot of Americans don't even know what communism is, they just think it's "evil". I think that this is what the singer is getting at.

Rathergate. Actually Fox is the closest to fair and balanced of any of the major american tv news agencies. This isn't actually saying all that much but still. And you apparently like to ignore that almost every single Democrat also rapes the constitution at every chance they get. In fact, they have been much more successful at it than the Republicans. And the video was innaccurate with several of the references, but stuff like that from both sides invariably is. For that matter, the first amendment is also under attack by the Democrats as well, but since the media doesn't mind about it as long as it's not infringing on non-judeo-christian religion it's not widely reported.

It has to do with the Puritan Work Ethic. If you've worked hard and legally for your money it's yours. You have every right to it. You find a lot of Americans follow this ideal.
