To ease the tension around the General forum and to discover more about some of the posters here on Nationstates, I've decided to ask your views on the strange and mysterious. Do you believe in ghosts? UFOs? Witchcraft, or miracles? Or are you a skeptic who scoffs at the idea of such nonsense? Discuss your beliefs about the strange and seemingly unexplainable, and share past experiences with the paranormal.

I once shat out a turd that held a conversation with me. I'd say that was the strangest thing that ever happened to me.

All nonsense is mysterious and strange, by definition. :)

I happen to LOVE nonsense..! So I "believe" in all things strange and mysterious.

But my belief is that these "mysterious and strange" things are pointers to lovely and weird parts of being human that are somehow useful.

Useful, perhaps, only because they are "fun",.. but usually useful for other reasons as well.

Thus, I believe in god, and the easterbunny, and politicians, and YOU (whoever YOU are), and "unexplainable" sounds in the night...

I can conjure my own "mysterious" thingies out of nowhere, which is actually where most all "mysterious" thingies come from, of course, and don't need to rely on others (or the environment) for the stimulation of my "mysterious and strange" sensory apparatus.

And, yes,.. I do look down on non-believers,.. as one loks down on anyone who can't seem to bring themselves to appreciate a fine wine or a beautiful piece of art. :D

I believe in aliens because purely on probability grounds, it's likely, or at least entirely physically possible, that they exist. We do, so why can't any other race?

As for the other stuff, I won't believe it until I have some proof.

I come under the sceptic area due to this (for aliens): How would they travel '000s of lightyears across the galaxy in a reasonable time period. How would they know we exist when our first strong radiowaves left earth at the 1936 olympics?
