Marathon!

The name, when unconnected to the NS-User who (I've been told) was one of the Gods of Spam and Flame, brings up images of the Bungie game released nearly a decade ago for the Mac. A revolutionary game that is still talked about today. There was also Marathon II which I've been told was also damn good. People have even said that Halo, Bungies latest breakthrough game, is yet another sequel to Marathon. Unfortunately, they never went past Marathon II. There was a third product released, but it was just a Marathon/MarathonII set that had a few additional levels. People mourned its loss and moved on with their lives. Well, Marathon is back!

On the evening following the release of Halo2, the game that I waited in line six hours for, the phenominal game that lets you have two guns at once, Marathon made its return!

But not as you would expect. Oh no, it was not a re-done game that is totally different from the original, it was the same Marathon that we all know and love! Brought back to the world! Yay!

Now, does anybody know what the hell I'm talking about?

Nothing new - I remember GoldenEye 007 letting you use 2 guns

true goldeneye gave dual pistols after defeating certain enimies, but h2 seems to allow weapon combos.

Yes, I know the two weapons isn't radically new, but it's still neat.

It's in Red Vs Blue, the internet comedy series made by Rooster Teeth. Red Vs Blue is a web-series that uses Halo to make its episodes, they play the game and dub their voices over the video. It is quite phenominal. Anyway, they've been using Halo for a long time (They're currently in the middle of their Third Season, Seaons One & Two are available on DVD) and people have been wondering if they'd switch to Halo2 when it came out. Also, they'd wonder how exactly they'd make the switch since characters look different and there are different maps/weapons in Halo2. Well, in Episode 43 (which came out the day after Halo2 went on sale) they made the jump! A weird time rift thingy which flung them all into the future where "things are very shiny" (That'd be Caboose, the dumb one). Anyway, Church (The very angry Ghost/Robot with a 10 megaton bomb in his chest) was flung backwards in time. And what did they use to show Church back in time? Marathon!

Ahh... I remember Marathon. I also remember Atomic Coma Ryche or something similar, and this one guy at my school says they were the same person, who now controls Tuesday Heights!

I'm not sure I believe that Marathon and TH could be the same person, though. I mean... really, it's just kind of absurd.

You know who was also really annoying? Satan. He was constantly ragging on Wicca. I remember one time when he filled half the front page with spam. I think that's when he got deleted.

Ahh, the days of the phpBB forums were great, even if the server did suck.
