Check out http://www.cannabisculture.com/
Read through their information and check out their forums. A lot of great information there about the herb.

what's the *cone* of a bong?
i have had people complain about a bong i made because it has copper pipes not glass. They say *oooo bits of copper oxide in ur lungs* jesus they'd have to smoke all day everyday for 75 years for that to make any difference.

I'd personally avoid using aluminum to facilitate dopesmoking, and I am a dedicated recreational drug-user. I won't cook with an aluminum pan, either.
I've heard too much about links between aluminum and Alzheimer's to want to take the chance, and I'm not about to learn metallurgy or neurobiology in order to prove or disprove what I've heard. Easier to avoid it and feel reasonably secure, n'est-ce pas?
