My thoughts on Arafat and a question for Muslims.

Had to make a new thread because I know my more recent post in another thread will get lost in the sea of hatred and christian white propoganda.

I have always had a strong admiration for Arafat. I admire what he has tried so hard to do for his people. My people (American Indian of the Caddo tribe) know the sting of having their homeland stripped from them without reason and while some may call our leaders (Crazy Horse, Geronimo, Sitting Bull, Running Bear, and other brave warriors) "terrorists", we shall always remember them for who they were: men of great honor who loved their people and their land and their way of life, even though the white man's history books say otherwise.

Arafat was a man of great honor who did what he could for his people. Even though the white man's history books will label him a terrorist, I will always hold a place of honor for him in my heart.

If it would not offend Muslims, may I, a heathen, perform a guiding soul ritual traditional of my people that he may reach green forests? If it will offend, I shall not perform this ritual for him, but know that my heart is with him, his family, and his people.

Have you always admired how he stole millions upon millions of aid dollars that the Palestinians desperately needed?

Yeah a man of great honor, it's a great honor to kill children and Olympic athletes.

BTW We stripped your land because we wanted it. They should have fought harder, or picked the winning team when they decide to fight in the white mans wars.

Or at the very least not accept help from the same guys that fought and won a war against them in the Pre-American Revolutionary years.

Anyway, it's perfectly fine by me. Hell, I'd be more offended if you did this for Osama.

May he rest in peace that he tried to bring to his people. May Israel take heed and try to find a way.

Gosh bless Arafat. :(

Not wanting to take attention away from the topic at hand, Steph, but what's the problem with saying "God"? I know your atheist, but if your going to say "bless," then you might as well make the rest of your statement make sense....out of respect for everyone.

Or maybe I'm overreacting.

Yes, well, why should I respond with civility when faced with an angry hillbilly? Why don't you crawl back in the whiskey bottle and beat your wife a few times and leave the grown ups to talk, mmkay? Mmkay!

Note to mods: Yes, this is a flame, but I'm really ceasing to care.

Not that I was angry, but wouldn't it be super silly to get angry over the internet? You are a native American so you shouldn't make whiskey (firewater) an issue.

I only beat my wife when she angers me btw.

PS-Are you mad that you were fired from the Village People? (http://www.tiscali.nl/images/6/9/Village.jpg)

Yasser Arafat is no Sitting Bull or Geronimo. In fact to even compare him with those two great warriors is more of an insult than anything. Just look at his record:

1. Allowed the killing of thousands of Israelis

2. Allowed the killing of four Israeli Atheletes in the Olympics

By the way, if your comparing the Jews/Israelis to the white man, than I should give you a little history lesson.

1. Israel is declared a state by NATO

2. Several hours later all the surrounding Arab countries attack Israel. The Arab countries tell the Arabs living in Israel that the Israelis will kill them etc.

3. Israel wins war of independence

ETC......

If you read in an unbiased history book...you should find this info.

Tired of writing. That is all.

Hmpf.

Public figures tend to enter the relm of myths when they die.

Arafat was a leader and was liked but with any man, he had his flaws.

People forget that he once tried to overthrow the old King of Jordan and ran away in a womans dress(or so it was rumored).

He did amass a rather large bank account and I think Islamic Jihad and Hamas did more support for the people then his group.

Ah well he is gone.

The shrub has an opportunity to make some headway in that mess. If he could solve that problem (stiffles a laugh), he could greatly increase his image in the world.

Time will tell.

(Crazy Horse, Geronimo, Sitting Bull, Running Bear, and other brave warriors) "terrorists",

Crazy Horse? Well there could be arguments.
Sitting Bull? Nahh wasn't he more the spritual leader?
Running Bear? Dont' recall having heard of him.

Geronimo? Nahh.

A guy I worked with mentioned meeting him once when he was a kid. He said he would let you take pictures of him with you but you had to give him five bucks! I asked him if he did it and he said nope. He didn't have any money! ;)

That would have been a trip to have one.....

the oneida were the only member of the iroquois confederacy to fight on the american side in the revolutionary war, yet they ended up with the smallest reservation of any of the six nations. so much for picking the right side.
