Okay. We are here to discuss gay issues like gay marriage and gays in the military.

Here's the rules: You can't use an argument that has been used before. All arguments must be completely new and original.

Gays should be allowed to marry and be in the military. Why? Because I said so, and if you don't like it I shall strike you down!

Gay marriage should be allowed and gays should be allowed in the military because the great talking stick of Juicy Fruit that lives in the cloud city of Arakosa has decreed it so with his Fourth Edict of D'rutha.

Gays should be allowed to marry and be in the military. Why? Because I said so, and if you don't like it I shall strike you down!

1) The rights associated with marriage? Fine by me. But why upset so many Christians by demanding it happens in Church, or is called "marriage"?

2) Also, does your love really depend on a piece of paper? If so, that's pretty sad.

1 and 2 combined should lead to the logical conclusion that getting the legal rights associated with marriage should be enough for a gay couple. I am willing to support them on THAT request/demand.

Gays in the military? Heck, why not. The Greek had elite squads composed completely out of gay couples. If one died, the other would fight to the death to avenge his love. Tho you do have to understand it would be as awkward to hetero males to shower with you as it would be to lesbians showering with men. Not sure how to handle that...

Gays should marry. Once they're off the market, so to speak, it makes choosing a mate from unattached singles much easier.

Gays should be in the military. What the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy did for civilians, they certainly could do in improving the fashion sense and grooming of our countries' soldiers. ;)

I considered that. Unfortunately, lesbians for this purpose are categorized as "gay" too. :D

I'm against gay marriage, but for civil union. I think if you allow gays to be joined under a church roof in the name of God, you're insulting the fine religion of Christianity. Marriage is a religious ceremony, and as many of us know, Christianity and homosexuality ain't exactly like a smores sandwich. More like spinach and icecream...they just don't go together. Civil union however should definitely be legal everywhere.

Gays should not be allowed to marry because God told me to to hate them and not allow them to do anything. In fact, if I saw them in a candy store and they were trying to buy chocolate or anything fun, I was to stop them and shoot them on the spot.

What if a priest or pastor allows it? Is it still an insult to the religion? After all, wouldn't she or he be the religion's representative?

I believe it is an affront to God, and any pastor or priest who allows gay marriage should be removed from their post. By allowing gay marriage, wouldn't a priest be going against the word of the holy book? In that case, maybe he isn't fit to be preaching....

I think that you're confused.

A lot of really religious people are probably loosing their collective diapers' contents because they think that the government is about to get involved with their church and make them marry homosexuals in a religious ceremony. That's not exactly how it works.

There are gays in the military too. Just not the U.S. Military.

And as far as I have heard, there has not been a rash of guys jumping other guys in the shower.

The rate of such incidents have maintained a stable 25% all through the last ten years.

There are gays in the military too. Just not the U.S. Military.

There may not officially be gays in the US Military, but you and I know there are probably a number who don't feel anyone needs to know.

We could give them their own unit. This unit would strangely be the first one sent into every battle, to draw enemy fire, so that the other units would know where the enemy is , and take fewer casualties.

Nah, they should just all become Airborne. They'd parachute behind enemy lines, give the enemy troops makeovers and bright, easy to see wardrobes. :p

More importantly, one should ask if Gays should be allowed to marry in the military or if Gays should be allowed to marry military personnel.

Even more important is the question of whether or not Gays should be allowed to marry the military as a whole!

Slightly less important than the latter, but much more important than the former, is answering the question of whether or not people in the military should be able to marry.

A notch above the third, but not so much as the second, is answering the question of whether or not Gays should be allowed to own guns.

Personally, as a gay male, I am afraid of openly gay homosexuals being in the military. I mean, come on - I can see it now.. strutting around with their M-16s, going off on a rampage yelling "Who'd you call a Faggot??"
