President Bush has chosen Alberto Gonzalez to replace Ashcroft.

Gonzalez was very supportive of Bush's policy to detain terrorism suspects for indeterminable amounts of time without legal representation.

He is the man who wrote the memorandum that claimed Bush had the right to waive Geneva convention anti-torture laws.

He was also a partner in the law firm that represented Enron, before and after the scandal broke.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

I thought he couldn't be worse than Ashcroft, but maybe he is...at least he won't complain about statues with exposed breasts...hopefully...

The only complaint I have for bare breasted statues is that they aren't the real thing.

He may. If this is the same guy they wanted for the Supreme Court, things will probably get really bad.

He was the guy who adivsed that Geneva does not apply.

If he is the same guy, he is a major Arch-Conservative who will probably attack RoeVWade anyway he can.
