Came out today, I guess we have all heard. But I have a story to tell. This dude at my school bought the game at 1:00 this morning, went home, beat it on Heroic mode, then came to school. He got to school by 12:00. How f*%&ing amazing is that?

Behold: I shall bitch about how Halo 2 is a disgrace.

In the beginning, there was Marathon, and it was good, then came Oni, but lets forget about that, shall we?

Bungie was a quiant group of programmers happily making video games for the Macintosh Computer System, good games, like marathon and myth, and not-so-good games, like the aforementioned Oni.

Then Bungie came along its idea for a game about a super space-marine who fought aliens on a giant disc, "Cool!" They said, and went about working their masterpiece.

They diligently plodded out, making their new, genre bendering game that they had called Halo. Then along came evil Mr. Gates, and his best friend, the deadly sin of Greed. "Hi there, Bungie!: Mr. Gates said, "Nice game you've got there!".

"Thank you, mister!" Bungie Replied

"If you sign this contract with currently unfilled information, I'll give you lots of money in return for you making a game for my new toy!" Mr. gates offered.

"Golly, that sounds like a good idea!" Bungie exclaimed

Just then, Mr. Gates and Greed used their Dark Magick powers to shackle bungie to his desk, forcing him to work to produce the game ONLY for his toy, with a tiny budget, and an imminent deadline.

In conclusion, Halo came out too early, is a slipshod port of a MAC game, and, as a result, had to scrap about half of it's features.

But it was still a decent game

No such Luck with Halo 2

Halo 2 is much less like Halo 2 than it is Halo 1.25.

Much of the Praise has been this:

You can Hold two Guns at once! (One of Carmack's Doom Mods 1994 Goldeneye 8/97)
The Vehicles Blow up and Parts go Everywhere (Total Annihilation 1998)
You can Kick people (Duke 3d 1995)

Thats a lot of what I've seen, and a lot of it is at least six years old in implementation.

The only graphical improvement I noticed was slight refinement in meshes and textures, but no polygonal improvement, or better color, or any good AA

So, How is this worth 60 bucks? It's Halo with more guns and vehicles. I mean, its not like they incorporated a full-scale implementation of the KarMA engine, or the most advanced AI ever seen by gamers, or the best realmapping ever incorporated into a game, or for that matter, the best face-audio syncup known to man? But honestly, who could we expect to do that, heck, we might as well ask for a crowbar

played it, for five hours, with around 16 other people.

Still not 60 bucks fun.
15 bucks bargain bin fun, though.
