A good friend is having a problem at school, and i need some advice.
Does anyone know how to keep two groups of friends that hate each other?

We sit in our 'common room' at lunch and free periods, but she is torn between a group of females, and group of males, both of which are her friends. Both of which wont sit with the others. We cant move anyone out of the room and she's pretty distraught. Anyone had a similar experience with a solution as im feelin' useless..

Organise an orgy with both groups and lots of alcohol and weed.

She is about to learn a lesson in life. Who is really a friend.

In that situation, I would dump a "friend" if they wanted me to choose.

She should simply sit with whom she wants and be able to rotate between groups any time she wants.

I have a friend whose wife dispises me! ;) I don't take it personally because she has encouraged him to remain in contact and do things.

Tell her to forget about merging the groups. It's not going to happen. She will find who her friends are by the reactions.

That isn't the problem. Noone in the groups want to pressurize her, but she feels she is letting both sides down. They are all good friends to her, but surely the answer can't be "life sucks, get over it"?
This is the NS forum, the place where minds of all kinds eat little problems like this for breakfast!

Is alternating days an option? Mondays with the Xs, Tuesdays with the Ys... so forth?

Yeah. So tell her to rotate the groups, sit with some sometimes and others other times, and invite all for all her parties. If someone thinks shes letting them down, they are not worth hanging on to.

Simple, she should stand on a table, and proclaim she well have nothing more to do with such prepubescent attitudes. Then make a speech about how real friendships don't make you choose which side to be on. Finally she should give both sides the middle finger, and casually walk out.

Or, she could refuse to join either side and just laugh her ass off at both sides for being so stupid.
