Arrogance from Republicans won them the election

The idea and assertion that anyone who does not believe the same things and think the same way as the American right is a close-minded, limp-wristed, pinko commie, by nearly every person that you hear speak candidly for the Republican party, helped them greatly in this election and will win them every election as long as they keep this up, in my opinion.
What do you think?

(This is the flamebait response to this (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=372025) thread. :)

So conservatives, what do you think? :p

I see why you have been so pissed now. The very question is offensive to you, any suggestion that your party of "intellectuals"is arrogant offfends you. Well' it's true. Live with it.

It was just showing it swings both ways, both parties have factions which think the other party is downright stupid.

I think you and the Democratic party make a huge mistake in calling all conservstives evangelicals.
I also think that you re wrong about both parties being equally arrogant. Perhaps both are arrogant, but not equally as far as I can see.

You're not all evangelicals, but the evangelicals own you guys right now. They put Bush back in office, they're a powerful lobby, and they're gonna get their policies put in action over these four years.

Wrong, again. Kerry and the Democrats put Bush back in office. If one takes no firm stance and has so many insulting the people who would long to vote for him if only treated with some diginty, they will certainly lose.
You will need only to observe as Bush administration's social policies are attempted to be made law to see that you are wrong about conservatives. They will fail. In the end it wasn't who Bush was or what he said that decided the election, but who he wasn't and what wasn't said on his behalf, in my opinion. Ironic isn't it?

I think that your opinion of Republicans and americans is exactly the kind of hate that won Bush, and Republicans nation wide, this election. So, thanks.

Title: Evangelicals Say They Led Charge For the GOP

"The rallying cry for many social conservatives was opposition to same-sex marriage. But concern about the Supreme Court, abortion, school prayer and pornography also motivated these "values voters." Same-sex marriage, said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, was "the hood ornament on the family values wagon that carried the president to a second term."

Could that be because...well...there are more of them than there are of you? At least enough of them to give Bush the number of votes he needed to win the election. That's what really burns your butt, isn't it? The American people sided with "the evengelicals" and rejected liberal ideas.

I don't know about him, but it IS my true opinion, and it did happen. You liberals are stupid enough to think you can abuse and insult people, and then think they will vote for you! Man, is that dumb!

Ya know what I really hate? "My Way of the Highway" folks. I can't even express my anger towards them. First, I support Bush publicly in Massachusetts. It got ugly. Even violent. They mocked me, stabbed me with pens, even tried to hit me with chairs. Then, liked I promised them, Bush won. I even got the benefit of Kerry giving up. When the results were announced, people immediately thought of Canada. Some outright cried. Their anger was directed towards me.

HOW ON EARTH CAN BUSH BE SO BAD AS TO DO THIS TO ME!?!?!?!
They act like they are smarter than me, then portray me as a terrorist. The one Republican I know (he's huge, no one'll mess with him) gave everyone equal respect and then congratulated the Dems on a good race.

Now who's more arrogant?

Shut up. Grow up. Get over it. The election's over, move on with your life. If you're so mad about what happened here then use that anger to try to make sure it doesn't happen again in 4 years. Until then, stop whining because it doesn't change anything. Republicans can be arrogant. Democrats can be arrogant. Everyone can be arrogant in the eyes of someone else. Case closed. Time to rebuild. :headbang:

Arrogance is a human condition and not defined by party offiliation.

Arrogance from the democrats lost them the election,
I think that is one of the reasons Kerry lost.

calling Bush and his supporters
all those names and insults
for thier economic, political and social views
which they have a right to just like you democrats.

Keep thinking, talking and campaigning like that
and you will keep on loosein Presidential,
state and local elections.

To say that abuse and insults are limited to Democratic Party is ridiculous. Both sides are guilty of it, and if Kerry had won, we'd be having this exact same arguement, except the roles would be reversed.

What election were you watching? I'm from Michigan, a major battleground state, and there were 3 mudslinging pro-Kerry ads here for every 1 "Flip-Flopping" pro-Bush ad. And besides, It doesn't matter anymore. You people really need to get on with your lives! The election's been over for a week now!

Uh, actually, it has been documented that Bush used a much larger portion of attack ads then kerry did.

Actually it is because you are a minority here. Go find a mostly conservative board, and there will be much more anti-Kerry sentiment than anti-Bush sentiment.

In any case, if people are still going on about the title post, I made this thread as a response to the one that said liberals' arrogance won Bush the election. As I've said numerous times, I believe both sides are equally arrogant.
