Has anyone else had trouble with MSN lately....

Our computer won't even let us log on to MSN, we called the MSN customer service people and they said that apparently a lot of people had been having trouble with MSN because they updated some of their software. The guy we had on the phone told us to try to re-install MSN and see if it worked then....it didn't. Then my dad ran a virus check and after that we were able to get on sometimes, but it was hit and miss.....and now we are back to square one because we can't get on at all again. Did anyone else have this problem? And if you did and were able to fix it, HOW did you fix it? A solution would be very much appreciated.....I'm sick of Internet Explorer.

Somebody? ANYbody?
I was able to get on the second after I read your post. So I can't help ya.
I have IE6 so I don't see the problem with that...

Every time I try to get on it says 'Signing in.....' and then after a little bit it says 'Signing in (attempt 2).....' and the "We could not find a connection" window pops up and I barely restrain myself from destroying the computer.

Well the service did have one of those quirky servicing things a few days ago. I guess it's a hiccup of a problem.
My best advice from personal experiance, don't try to go on MSN so frequently. It hurts more the more you try and fail....believe me.
And be patient. VERY patient.

I've only tried a couple times today.....but we have been patient. We've had this stupid problem for over a WEEK.

Oh....wow...
I recommend marching into the MSN H.Q. with AK-47's and demand their souls then.

Tell MSN to shove their service up you know where and after you get something new go here... http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ so you stop whining and do something constructive.

I'd love to....but I don't know where it is. We used to use Internet Explorer before we got MSN, so I've been using that lately. But it really is a pain to get the bill for a service that isn't working for you. So we have a choice between upgrading MSN and paying more for their internet service, to just keep using Internet Explorer and pay for a service that doesn't work, or tell MSN we don't want their service anymore and have a modem go to complete waste.

That's what I keep telling my parents, but apparently if we stopped using their service the modem or some part of our computer would go to waste (I don't know the details). And we can get in to MSN...about once every 30 tries.
Hmm... if it's a DSL setup, the only thing you'd be wasting is the NIC or possibly the modem itself, but to get another DSL account, you'd be using those again anyway.
I had problems before the SP2 update. Now its fine.
I assume you're talking about MSN messanger.

You know what? Ya got two options:
1. Wake up and just acknowledge that you're getting screwed by a multi-corp, which happens to everybody, all the time, and pay your penance of shit service at the price you agreed not to have it at for awhile until it works again for as long it's going to. YOU HAVE NO CONTROL.
2. The AK-47 idea. (My personal favorite.)
Now in my secret country I had to ban all forms of guns simply because they are such handy problem solvers and it's a big enough pain in the buttocks to rule without some idiot deciding YOU'RE the problem and solving it AK-47 style. I've done a good enough survey of history not to fall for that little trick.
