What if it was you?

Everytime you condemn somebody for any reason, just think how you would feel if it was happening to you.

What if you were gay? What if you were black? What if you were white? What if you were divorced? What if your parents were divorced? What if you simply don't like chocolate?

People always like to take the moral highground and put-down everybody else. But what if somebody else had the high ground, and they were squashing you? Just think about it.

So you're a gay white negro who is divorced, has divorced parents AND doesn't like chocolate?

You realise Klonor that simply by accusing people of wrong doing you yourself are "taking the moral high ground", becoming exactly what you are complaining about.
You are chastising people for expressing their opinions.
"Be careful when chasing monsters not to become one yourself.
N..N..Nei..awww you know who said it."

Not really Bedou, this is a valid point...

I'm the last person to start spouting religious crap, but, there are two ideas that I like from religion:
"Judge not lest ye be judged."
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

So, I agree with Klonor for those reasons. Just because you're a certain way doesn't give you the moral authority to judge other people simply because of who they are and things that happen to them because of circumstances out of their control. This even applies to beliefs and opinions. You cab be in disagreement and not like what they have said, but you cna't judge them as amoral or morally inferior for that.

Fine then what gives Klonor the right to call it?
When I said he was he was doing exactly what he dislikes I was correct.
He passes judgements on others because they are passing judgements on others.
Therefore he is no better.
I have seen very few people in this forum since I have been here "agree to disagree".
Oh and it was " Nietzsche " I can never spell his name.

Life is like a sandwich; sometimes you eat the sandwich, and sometimes the sandwich eats you.

I'll risk a bit of squashing every now and then, and derive a bit of enjoyment from pompously taking the high ground myself on occasion.

Uh....when did I pass judgement on anybody?
The moment you decided others were judging others.
The moment you decided others were squashing others.
The moment you took it upon yourself to decide it was your place to set people down what you believe is the right line of thinking.
When you decided that others were doing wrong that means you judged them to be incorrect, and you to know the correct way-hence your post.
There is another quote from the "N" man I like.
"He that humbles himself wishes to be exalted."

Okay, so I'm judgemental, egotistical, and arrogant. Wow, what a shock! Who would have ever thought that a spoiled teenager could think he was smarter than everybody else? It's so amazing and unprecedented!

Don't forget a gay white negro who is divorced, has divorced parents and doesn't like chocolate

Um, I don't see how Klonor was being judgemental at all, as he wasn't actually calling anyone judgemental. If he had then that probably would've made him a hypocrite. As it stands I think he has a valid point, at the risk of using my own judgement ;D
