I say this today in the local newspaper, a police officer talking about 13 year olds with $1000/day cocaine habits and it just blew my mind. Not that it is impossible to use $1000 of cocaine in a day, but how long could one live with a $1000/day coke habit. I mean first if you were doing that much, you are actually handling as much as a small time dealer, so you're got to be paying less than the standard per gram/per rock price, buying in bulk if you will. No one would go around buying dime rocks or quarter grams for long when they are going through more that kinda money. I can pick up 1/2 an ounce of decent quality of powder for $1000 on demand, and could, after a little while, be buying half a pound a week for $7,000, so that's one hella a habit in terms of powder - figure 30 grams a day going up the nose or into the veins. As for rock it's gotta be worse, when you dealing with that kinda money for personal use you'ce gotta be cooking it yourself, so figure 30 grams of powder/day works out to smoking something 200 rocks/ day.
How long could a person survive on this $1000/day habit?
edit: let me amend this before people start arguing. Certainly there are millionaires and such who can support $1,000/day habit by buying Peruvian Pink Bublegum Flake at $1,000/gram, but from context it was clear they were speaking of plain old generic coke.
