What Bush has proved

So winning a second term in office, after screwing around in the first term. What has President Bush proved? He has proved that you can be a slack at the beginning, you can avoid going to war by joining up with a National Guard service, then go AWOL to help daddy's friend in campagining. You can go to the best college in the world, and come out with a C average, you can run business into the ground, be a governer of Texas (I don't live in Texas so I don't know what he was like), and you can STILL become President of the most powerful nation on earth. Thank you for lowering the bar Mr. Bush.

Why do people continue to omit the greatest blunder in Bush's entire lifetime when making posts like this?

He traded away Sammy Sosa while GM of the Texas Rangers. Easily the biggest mistake of his lifetime.

*Sigh*
Well, Kerry was a member of the Navy Reserves, so I guess that puts him in the same boat. No pun intended.

And, as for the rest, hatemongering and flamebaiting just isn't worth my time.

Now that is something I can agree with. But I don't like the Rangers anyway.

Ouch. And you know whats scary? Back in 2000 he said he would run this country like a business, and given his business records.....

That should have been a campaign point for Kerry. He would get like 90% of the baseball fan vote.

"Do you want a man who traded away Sammy Sosa to run this country? Vote John Kerry."

Well, considering the state of the US economy and trade deficit, that's one promise Bush did keep!

As for his lovely "Let's all work together and heal the rift" speech - considering it was the actions of his re-election campaign which was the dirtiest, low-blow campaign ever, I find it a little bitter to swallow.
Especially as he's now said "I will reach out to everyone who supports my goals." That's hardly promising bipartisanship and appealing for unity, is it?
It's more along the lines of "think what you like, but agree with me".
And apparently, the first in line for the chop in his cabinet reshuffle looks like Colin Powell - the only one who has disagreed with the running of the Iraq war, among other policies. So a good indication, methinks, of just what really is going to happen regarding Bush's 'reaching out to everyone'.
His response to the Worldwide criticism of the Iraq invasion: "There is a certain attitude in the world by some that says that it's a waste of time to try to promote free societies in parts of the world."
In other words he views any criticism of his decision to invade a country based on completely false pretenses and information as meaning that those people don't support democracy. Nothing else. You either with him or against him.
He just doesn't get it, does he? Considering he has this opinion of the people (and countries) that don't support him, how can they work with him?
Are ppl really that naiive that they think there'll be any difference in how the US is run? Aside for becoming even more right-wing (especially the Supreme Court).

Why is there only discussion of unity when a republican wins? Do the dems actually consider themselves entitled to rule, even when they lose? The arguements about mandate have been clearly defeated. Only a magnanimous victor would even speak about unity and working together. I personally hope Bush drops all pretense of "reaching across the aisle". It certainly wouldn't have happened if Kerry had won and had a democratic congress.

Actually I think Ashcroft goes before Powell, he's very unpopular, not very effective and the ideal sacrifical lamb to make peace with the other side.

1. Bush's energy company is still alive and relatively healthy.

2. He dropped moderate conservatism and small-government reforms in favor of a very diffrent policy which i do not approve of.

But he traded Sammy Sosa. You can't argue with facts like that.
