Maybe the October Suprise really did happen?

Before the election there was alot of speculation that the Bush administration would pull Osama Bin Laden out of their asses. A few days before the election we get a tape from Osama despite the fact that we have not heard from him in a long time. In the tape, Osama states that any state that votes for Bush will get attacked. Knowing American mentality, we want to stick it to the terrorist. So what did we do? We got alot of red states. So did the October Suprise really happen? If that was it, America fell for it hook line and sinker.

Oh, no. Just because it's the first time he has ever given a videotaped speech in front of a plain blue background is purely coincidence. :)

No the tape did do that much.
Gay Marriage had the most effect.
Eleven states passed an amendment to outlaw it.

We got one more red state than last time. (NM and Iowa changed, NH did to the other side).

well most of those states were already red to begin with. I don't think he won many more states this time around than last time. NM I think he won this time but not last time, but he didn't need it heh.
edit: Doh, late and wrong :(

I can think of a few things that could be considered October Surprises:
1. The tape previously mentioned.
2. Kerry won most/all of the debates, even though Bush had won all his previous ones. It might've made the race closer than it would've been.
3. The Red Sox won the world series. It didn't affect the election, but it was a surprise.
