All 10 in a month. umm so that's 10 books with 900 odd pages each.. well even I don't read that much.
On topic, they're pretty cool, and I'm enjoying them, at a much slower rate (going to start on the third sometime soon).

I happen to think that the WoT books are some of the best I've read in that genre. I've read the entire series about 7 times now over the years, and I am waiting patiently for the next book.

Very good books. I finished them all in about ten days, having bought the series, then was incredibly angry at myself for the next six months or so. I ended up rereading them all about seven or eight times.
And yes, I can read that fast.

They are good books, but it's hard to not get frustrated when you read one book and then have to wait 2 or so years for the next, and 10 years or so after you started reading them still waiting....still it drags on.
One criticism is that he has fallen for the 're-cap' for new readers thing. I think if you have read 9 of the books and dont yet get that Lan is stone-faced, Mat is into hi-jinks, Nyneave is a cross tounged nag hag, etc, you dont qualify as literate enough to be going on with the books anyhow, and if you cant be bothered reading the preceeding 9 (as those who Jordan should be catering to have done) then you only have yourself to blame if you feel like you're missing something.
Enough repetition about character aspects that followers of the series already know, if you walk into the movie halfway through, that's your lookout.

I'm one of those people that has gotten tired of waiting 2 years between books. So I believe I stopped at the 6th, and until my dad (who actually keeps up) tells me he's done, I'm not reading them. When he finally gets done I'll buy all of them and take some time to read them. But until then their readability is low because there are too many plot twists. :p

First of they are great books really enjoyed them, I think the only reason it took me as long as it did to read them was trying to find the boxs sets instead of buying them lose, much easier to keep track of. That said I don't think it is a waste for him to do a little bit of a recap it makes it a lot easier to recall all the other books after waiting two years for the new one.

I could agree with the recap if we were talking obscure plot points or even plot points at all, but as I suggested earlier if you dont by book 9 get that Lan is stone-faced, there is little point to you continuing to read...

I don't know in the interm between books I have typicaly read a few dozen stand alone fantasy/sci-fi and then books from any one of the half dozen or so ungoing series I've been reading. But yah I can kind of see what your talking about with the repetition of charecter traits, though its been a while since I read any of them so my memory is a little hazy, hm maybe its time for a re-read.
