Yeah, I preordered my copy a while back. Thinking about having a launch party on the 9th or 10th...

On a side note, Halo 2 is now #2 on my 'games to watch for' list... check out Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The screens are, for lack of better words, dead sexy.

I'm pre-ordered too.

There's going to be an Elder Scrolls IV? Way cool! :D I hadn't heard that. I loved III.

Bah! Halo pales in comparison to the majesty and grace that is Metroid. I'll probably get getting H2 after it comes out for PC.

I personally don't have a game system (Xbox, really)... but, my dorm (I'm a freshman in high school) is going crazy over that game...the previews for "Blood Gulch 2" (I don't know it's real name) amazed them apparently.. they have fallen in lovewith the new assault rifle  :D ...

Pfff- Those games are completely unrelated. That's like comparing Mario with Final Fantasy. It doesn't work. Anyway, Metriod doesn't even have multiplayer, and that's what Halo is all about; multiplayer...if you want to compare any game to Halo, it'd be Tribes 2, but that's only for PC really...

My brother gets Halo 2 right before he visits here, so I get to test it out before I think about buying it.. which is good cause it's damn expensive!

Metroid Prime: Echoes comes out immidiately after Halo 2, and has multiplayer, as well as the bad-ass HUD from Prime.

Also, Half Life 2 comes out.

Halo 2 picked a bad month, it doesn't bring enough to the table

Halo 2 Doesn't provide enough new material.

From where I'm standing, the only changes that have gotten any amount of publicity are TWO GUNS and KICKING PEOPLE OUT OF VEHICLES. These Are hardly selling point, I could use two guns in a Duke3d mod, and run up a ladder backwards while kicking with both feet while I did it. The Graphics leave me unimpressed and XB:L involves a periodical exchange of monies between me and the Microsoft Corporation.

now then, let's take a look at it's competition, Half-Life 2.

Gameplay videos of this lead me to believe it is the best thing that humanity has ever done. Cinema, Game, and Reality melt and run together here. Watching the Gman talk, watching how perfectly coordinated the mouth/audio syncup is left me breathless. Striders laying waste to city 17, only to be dropped by rocket launchers, causing them to destroy city block upon their fall, I honestly thought I was watching a movie.

But aside from Beautiful visuals, what does HL2 bring home?
Physics.
Yes, Physics.
That simple thing has never in the history of man been so perfectly replicated without the aid of billions of dollars in equipment. Seeing Mr. Freeman unload a clip from a Submachine Gun into a door, and watch as the door is torn to splinters around the bullets, until it hangs loosely on the hinges, the ground littered with wood and lock mechanisms renewed my faith in gaming.

And I hadn't seen the Gravity Gun yet.

The Zero Point Energy Manipulator, or Gravity Gun, works on a simple principle:

Everything is a weapon.

I watched in awe as I saw Gordon lift a coffee table and throw it at a headcrab zombie, sending it shooting back, only to pick up the sawblades that fell off of the table onto the floor when he picked it up, and send those ripping through more than one zombie at a time.

Halo 2, Eat your heart out

That is great and all but how can you frag the person sitting next to you on the couch that way? Halo creates a better multiplayer experience.

Hmmm, perhaps I should just get the limited edition now....I didn't realize they actually had a limited edition out, I mean...I figured they would release the game first.

My roommate's buying a copy, and he has the Xbox, so that means I'll play without having to pay. w00t for roommates with consoles.
