Please stop making this comparison.
I keep seeing "Kerry admitted when he was beat, unlike Gore, that worthless mangy scumbag who couldn't find his own ass with a road map." Or the like. But it really isn't comparable.
In Gore's case, the difference was inside the margin of error. That means a statistical tie. He was fighting to make sure the votes got counted enough to decide on a winner (and also that he was that winner, which is IMHO why he lost).
Kerry would have just looked silly trying to contest votes in the 10,000 range (if that little). It's really not the same thing.
